  1. Hi I am 3rd of the way to losing my 7/8 stone (106lbs) goal....so far I have a little crinkling around the top/back of my thighs.... Doesn't bother me much at this point but I am now starting to think of loose skin. Is there anyone here that had the same to lose as me? Do you have any loose skin?
  2. Okay so when I feel the food there...that feeling of it being lodged is normal? So I shouldn't be drinking to wash it down?
  3. Hi I was banded 7 weeks ago. I went for my first fill 2 days ago but they said I didn't need a fill and also advised the surgeon filled it a little during surgery. So all that is fine but my problem is I can't slow down! I feel as though I have no control and once I start eating I tell myself it will be fine. I often have to drink Fluid to wash the food down as it gets lodged. Not fully stuck, that has just happened once but like I say, it often gets lodged and I wash it down. Am I doing myself much damage? After 7 weeks surely I should of learned how to slow down! Weight loss is going wonderfully and I only have to eat very little but my technique leaves a lot to be desired! Is anyone in the same boat? how long did it take you personally to master eating slowly?
  4. Thanks guys! I am now 2 weeks post op and still struggling. I will give your suggestions a try! On a happy note I am not putting the weight I lost back on and actually have continued to lose weight! I have my first band on 4th June. I just hope I am better at this once the band has been filled!
  5. Hi I am 5 weeks post op and started eating solid food just 5 days ago. In those 5 days I have really struggled slowing down and chewing properly. I start off really trying but then old habits soon kick in fast and before I know it the food is stuck (happened 4 times in last 5 days) and I am bringing it back up again. Thing is, I have always eaten so very fast and never chewed food properly. It feels so unnatural and near impossible to slow down and chew! I don't know how I am going to do this. Is this normal, do I just have to keep at it? Am I damaging myself by doing what I am doing? So concerned and feel quite hopeless.
  6. Hi I have just started eating solid food again ...I am really struggling. I can only eat a little before I feel it getting kinda stuck. How can this happen before my band has been filled? Or is this normal because of swelling? I am worried I am doing myself or band damage!
  7. Thanks Bandista I asked my medical team and they said to drink and eat slowly. Only sip drinks and eat a teaspoon of food waiting 30 seconds for the next portion. So I guess I have my answer
  8. Hi I have just entered pureed foods stage and have so far been eating at normal speed and I drank at normal speed during the liquids stage too. Should I be pacing myself or is it fine to drink/eat quickly at this stage?
  9. Hey I am entering into weeks 3-4 of my post op diet. The literature provided states I am allowed pureed food but says I should eat 3-6 tablspoons per sitting and I am to have 5-6 sittings. Does this apply even when the band hasn't been filled? Is this because of the swelling inside? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I want to make sure I am doing this right!

    12th day weigh in

it is a shame...but until the band starts doing it's job, it's just another diet...and I failed at every diet, that's why I needed surgery...if I could have done it myself, I would never resort to surgery. This is true I guess it has been such a long time since I lost anything I am overcome with excitement

    1st day post-op

This is my feeling too but I have been doing a lot of reading and people say it will take time and fills so I am hanging in there. Now 10 days post op and very excited/anxious about the whole thing. Good luck!
