my date is the 7th also, i didn/t have any restritricted diets except no food 24 hours before surgery ,just liquids. it is so wierd how different doctors work, where you having your surgery done????good luck larry

hey tina I am getting banded on the 7th, i have a few friends who had it done and they are doing great, It is awful waiting i know that but in the long run you will be better off, hey we are getting banded within 4 days of each other, we can compare notes, hope you do well I will say a little prayer for you girl , your new friend Larry

so what was done at your pre op. I have mune on tuesday, My surgery date ia 12.07,2009 i was told no food 24 hrs before surgery only liquids, and then 2 weeks post op liquids only, broth, carnation instant breakfast (sugar free) and only liquids ,good luck Larry

so your having yours on the 4 th well good luck i am sure you'll be fine hope we can compare notes. do you need a post diet after surgery, my surgeon says no food liquids only for 2 weeks, carnation shakes, and jello and broth , then i progress to soft /ground foods. hey Karyn thanks for update.

check the ingredients in shake??? are you making your own drinks> or buying pre made

i am not on a liquid diet ,but i am eating smaller portions and more protein, i am craving salt also, i thought i was just going nuts till i saw your post, let me know what happens

i think there is a sweetener in the drink,is it the sugarfree one?

I am getting close too i went o surgeon for consult oct, 15, now i am going for pre surgery testing nov. 4, they are doing an upper gi,and another test to make sure asphacus ???? works ok hope my surgery is soon too .:blushing:

hi andy i was never told of a pre opt diet, i was asked to lose 10 percent of my body weight before surgery, and to eat smaller portions, and yes i was told there was a 2 week post opt diet of liquid s ,so maybe i guess it depends on the sureons.

do you have to do a liquid diet after surgery? i was told i would for two weeks after getting banded?:wink2:

my surgeon doesn/t require any special pre diet except no solids day before surgery, why is there so many different diets, he does require 2 weeks of liquids in post surgery though, does anybody have any suggestions on this. i have carnation instant breakfst sugar free, but is there anything else i can take?

i told my other half i was interested in lap band,and she has attended few support meetings with me,i need all support i can get :seeya:

what type surgery did you have?and what gets stuck i am new here and waiting to get my band. please help
