lifelongSolution got a reaction from aprilsleeve in 5 days post op and constantly hungry!
I was able to tolerate 2 oz of Protein shake the 3rd day after and now I am up to 5 oz at each sitting. I do get hungry after about 30 min to an hour but make sure I sip Water or drink so I can hydrate enough. The Soup is good but the Protein is what will make you feel a bit fuller. I still struggle with being hungry in between but use that as an excuse to drink more fluids. I have also been writing down how much each time on a tablet.
    Hope this helps some.

My mama was a girlie girl. So I'm attempting to be a girlie girl for her service. Not an easy task. I normally dress it seems, in the dark, lol. Thank you all for your kind words! "Boobage"...bahahahahaha

My mom died a few days ago. Getting around for her memorial. I decided to get fitted for a bra at VS. I wear a 38 dd. I wore a 38 dd. I walked out with a perfectly fit 38 C!!! I can't believe how tiny it looks. My head says there ain't no way. The mirror disagreed. Still can't get over it. It's sooo pretty.

lifelongSolution reacted to CanyonBaby in New here and need some help please ... 6 weeks out and can't really eat solids
I am actually quite surprised by what your doctor said. On my plan, I was not allowed to eat regular (solid) food for 8 weeks, and I now know why! Just from what you said. Now, I know that every doctor has a different philosophy on this, some eat regular foods almost straight away, others, like me, have to wait 8 weeks. I'm thinking the extra healing time really pays off, with little if any digestion issues. Since you didn't appear to have any issues noted in your endoscopy, you just may need a little extra time to heal! So even though you may FEEL ready to eat regular foods, your new tummy may just be saying..."hold on! Let's not rush this!" Maybe take some time to advance, giving it a couple of extra weeks. And progress slowly, trying little tiny bits of different things. Slowly progress to harder, chewier things, and only small portions of those. CHEW CHEW CHEW!!! It can't be stressed enough! Good luck to you!

I am using the Vitamelts and just put in for another order. There is absolutely no chewing they melt in your mouth and the flavors are great too. They have other suppliments too besides the Multivitamin. I get mine online from Swanson online. Hope this info helps. I also got Calcium Gummy bears today.

I am 6 days post op today. Feeling much better than the last two days. I can drink up to 4 oz very slowly and carefully, but have to be careful not to over do it. Each day really does improve drastically. I actually went out to get a few things from the store this morning. And I havent had to use pain meds for two days now. I wouldnt say 100% normal but at least 45% right now. I just don't want to rush things cause Lord knows it took years for me to get here so time will get me back to good health.

Well I was in the same boat but didnt care what others thought. We seem to have some of the same things in common, ht wt and longevity of trying not only to lose weight but to keep it off for a lifetime. I am 6 days post op and after being denied twice by my insurance company there is not one thing I would have done different. So GIRL......Go for it. I don't believe you will be sorry.

lifelongSolution got a reaction from erinm51 in Got turned down last year, trying again. Any ideas?
I was turned down twice even though I have sleep apnea and back and foot problems. I fought it, and papers after papers they wanted from different doctors. I was so angry because my struggle with weight was ongoing for over 14 years. I did program after program and went up and down like a yo-yo. The clinic I worked with was very helpful and put together a convincing proposal of how medically necessary it was and after 7 months finally got the approval. My main problem was my BMI being too low but they wanted to be blind to the declining health conditions. Don't give up, there must be something you havent thought of, make a list of all the health conditions you have due to your weight, and all the different things in the past that you have done on your own and try again. Good Luck

I suspect once you are a few years post op you will no longer view this as "the easy way out". For me, nothing easy about it... I view it as "the only way out"

lifelongSolution got a reaction from samuelsmom in Year and Half Later...slipping
I may have already mentioned that I am 6 days post - op but I had a lot of previous experience with forming new habits in order for this thing to be successful. I just felt determined not to let anything get in the way of results. Sometimes when I have some shake or drink I get a little crampy. I know its my new stomach processing so I usually back off. Slow and steady gets results and that is something I have to practice.

@@lifelongSolution Thanks. I don't know what it is but there are days it is easy and then days where it is really hard! At about 3 months out I had a rough patch and started doing a day of liquids once a week and that really helped. I wasn't as hungry and felt more in control. I don't do it all the time, just when I need it.

I have found that doing a liquid day or 2 helps me reset. Get or make your favorite Protein shakes and have them and a lot of Water for a day, preferably 2. Then go back to basics- Protein first, chewing thoroughly etc.
There's other great tips in the posts above. Good Luck to you!

I found them to be very chalky and bitter, I think I will try adding sweetener to them. It could be because I was only a couple of days post op. I bought 12 of the grape frost and 12 of the punch, have yet to try the punch. I am only 5 days post op and can only stomach about two ounces at a time. I will not buy anymore I dont care for the flavor very much, but everyone is different.
