  1. I am 3 months out and I just hit onederland!!!! I went to see my nutritionist and it said 198.5 I was so excited I took a picture!!! It's been 7 years since I've seen anything under 200 pounds. Every day is getting easier to eat less and eat better and the more I know I did the right thing even when I have cravings and get mad cause I can't eat what everyone else is eating. In the end it is worth it. I'm happier and healthier now. I've lost 60 pounds and my second goal is to lose 23 more pounds. Good luck everyone!!! Keep up the good work.

    When did you feel "normal"

I felt weak and tired and just plain awful until week 5!!!!!
  3. I got a complication the day after surgery. I started having major heartburn all the way up my esophagus and sweating while freezing and throwing up everywhere. my surgeon rushed me back into the OR and put a G-tube in to drain to give me comfort and it has helped. But omg painful isn't this tube painful. It feels like theres a knife stabbing into my ribs all the time. I wanted to know if anyone else had to get one and how they felt. i have to keep my in for 6 weeks.
  4. I started mine too. I got a surgery date of August 13th. This pre- op diet is so hard and def tests the mindset you have for this whole thing...good luck with everything.

Any Maine Pre- or Post OP Sleevers?

I am in Machias, Maine. I actually just got my surgery date for September 24th. I go to Bangor for my surgery. They actually switched me to the gastric bypass because of my really bad heartburn, said if I got the sleeve it would get incredibly worse so now I'm having that one, which is scary for me but I;m ok with it. They wanted to do the surgery August 31st but that's the day I go back to work. I work at an elementary school. I wanted to be there the first few weeks to get a routine down before I just leave for a week or two. 57 days and counting down. I'm nervous and excited to get my life back to healthy. Eating has been a struggle since I've had to wait. Part of me wants to eat what I can while I still can but I also need to keep my weight going down to get the surgery at all. I will update again when I can.

    Weight effecting your kids?

Congrats on your weight loss! Yes I've heard stuff from my mother like "Wow I didn't know you weighed that much" "You've never been this big before" or constantly telling me that she doesn't have a butt and she only weighs 172 and blah blah blah. Seriously I swear she does it on purpose. I'm going to fight this battle of mine and come out on the other side of which I'll only receive good comments....I have to believe that!
  8. I am probably less than 2 months away from having surgery. My pre-op consultation with my surgeon is July 10th. I knew my weight was effecting my family because of my lack of energy and motivation makes it hard for me to play with them as much. Last night my son whose just finishing up Pre-k came home with his portfolio with all his work throughout the year in it. As I was flipping through it he had a picture of me and I was huge compared to everyone else in his pictures, I asked him why and he replied" Because you have a big belly" he's only 5 years old and loves me very much and means no harm. Him saying this brought me to tears and a great realization of how much detail he is actually aware of that I never even gave a thought too. I don't want my children to see me as big and unhealthy. I know that's a big reason why I am getting the surgery to begin with is to have a better quality of life for me and for them. I haven't stopped thinking about what he said all night. I have fallen behind with my weight loss a little and now it's opened my eyes again to keep this going because it's a life long battle and both my kids and I deserve this. In order to achieve this I have to be successful and work at it, after last night I know I want this now more than ever. My question is has anyone ever had comments from your kids or anything and how did it make you feel?
  9. Waiting is making me eat and gain

    Blue Cross Blue Shield Battle

Awesome I'd love that! I really want my surgery in July because I will be off work! Crossing my fingers
  11. How long does it take between going to the Pre-op consult with surgeon and when u find out you're approved?
  12. I am almost at my 4th consecutive appointment I need with my Primary. It has felt like forever to get to this point. I have got through the entire program of dieticians and Psychologist and Physical therapists and seminars and support group. I now just need to get my 6 consecutive appointments to qualify for surgery with my insurance. So now I'm just waiting......I have my 6th appointment on July 2 and Pre-op consult with surgeon on july 10. It's not quite may so now is the waiting game. It's been up and downs with keeping weight trying to lose weight losing a little. This is a constant emotional and physical battle. I can't wait to get the sleeve done and then focus on just losing the weight and not worrying about being a certain BMI for insurance and for documentation. Has anyone else struggled with this insurance company?
  13. I just started my Journey was wondering if anyone was from Maine I could talk too.
