  1. did you every have gout or kidney stones? my husband had tendancy's to both but most recently gout and it is extremely painful. He had a severe case of it right after the surgery and it sent him right back into the hospital. Not sure if this would bring on the high uric acid. You should watch the foods you eat. I personally think the high-Protein diet you folks have to be on add to the uric acid levels. Good luck. My hubby had surgey on 4/10 so he hasn't had his uric acid levels checked yet.
  2. My husband was sleeved April 10 and he has lost 47 pounds including 1week pre op. I was concerned it was too much but doc said its fine. He may stall for awhile now. He does walk 3-4 miles a day and gradually increasing his calories each day. Good luck!
  3. So my hubby is now in his third week post op and has a hard time taking in the food intake the menu is calling for. In other words, he can't eat a 4 oz meal right not. He can have about 2 spoon fulls of Ricotta cheese and 2 spoonfuls of egg salad, and that is it. He can eat half a pack of cream of wheat. I honestly do not think he is getting enough calories and sometimes the protein on a daily. He is walking religiously every day at least 5-6 miles (clocked on Garmin watch). He is taking in Water, Isopure etc. He seems very tired and still not himself. He so wants to eat but just can't. Wondering what everyone else is/was eating at his stage. Any advice on different foods would be great,
  4. My hubby is getting the same thing. He will be 3 weeks post op on Friday. Surgery date was 4/10.
  5. So much better thank you. He still gets tired but as soon as he was able to walk and feel human he immediately felt better mentally.
  6. Just curious but what was your cholesterol? So everything else is normal beside that then? I agree if the PCP felt it was serious he would've sent you earlier but maybe you should consult with a cardiologist and go sooner. Good luck and keep us posted.
  7. Thanks all. I'm thinking he will stall once he starts the 2nd stage diet today. In total he has lost 40 pounds now and feels great. Walking everyday about 3 miles. His surgery was 4/10/15 and he had minor complications afterwards (dehydration and gout). So this is a huge accomplishment and honestly I'm in awe how well he is doing. This is really a great place to go for info. My hubby is not so much into reading the blogs so I do all the research. God Bless you all and good luck!
  8. Wondering how much weight everybody had lost post op 3 weeks. My husband lost 40 pounds. Including the 1-week pre-op. Is this normal or too much? Going to see surgeon today.
  9. Hubby had surgery 4/10 and I don't think he's getting enough vitamins and nutrients. He's always cold and tired also and realize it's normal. I get a Myers cocktail thru IV with glutathione and b12 shot bi-weekly for my chronic fatigue and swear by it. Wondering if anyone out there does this and if it's too soon for him.
  10. He was always hot prior to surgery.
  11. Hubby had surgery on April 10. He has been cold all the time since then. Pre op he was always not. Anybody else?
  12. Thank you so much for your replys. It means a lot to me. Just worried about him. He is a person who is always in trouble go and this has been so tough on him. I know I feel upset at times that he had the surgery so can imagine how he feels. Just want him back to the person he was before minus the addiction to food of course.
  13. My hubby had sleeve surgery in 4/10. Upon coming home became dehydrated and developed gout in his knee and was in extreme pain. Brought him to hospital where he stayed 5 days and they hydrated him with fluids and wasn't able to give him pills to relieve gout until day 6 (4/16) after surgery. It's now day 10 and he is now home for about 2 days (since 4/18). He is able to drink more and now able to walk. But now has diarrhea and seems real down. I'm thinking it's because of this setback he had. Is it normal to have diarrhea? Looking for some advice on how to handle the sadness. He was so ready for this surgery and thought it was going to be a lot easier than this. I'm thinking he has his regrets now but won't share them with me.
