  1. WHERE IS THE LOVE, I AM NOT FEELING THE LOVE! I will try to divert some of this negativity, "Hey, look over there! It's a squirrel!"
  2. Congratulations on your NSVs and all of your hard work!
  3. Funny, you don't look "Druish".
  4. The pre-op diet I didn't mind either, in fact I felt good due to my eating more basic foods (without all of the preservatives and additives) and without all of the simple carbs I normally ate. I wish I could even have just a Protein shake today, I can't eat any food, only Clear Liquids, in preparation for a colonoscopy tomorrow . (No, they will not be looking for my head. )
  5. Congratulations on your surgery and to the beginning of a new you!
  6. Congratulations on all of your hard work to lose your excess weight. You look great.
  7. I am sorry to mislead you. Here's a picture of some monkey love: (Don't get technical on me, they are probably considered apes).
  8. Sorry, this post has nothing to do with the topic title. I noticed I was at my 999th post and I wanted this, my 1000th post, to wish everyone a great day and keep up the excellent work you have been doing on your WLS journeys. I didn't want to use this on answering a question such as: "Is it ok to eat plywood only 1 week after bariatric WLS?" "After reading 9,872 articles about post surgery 3 week weight loss stalls, is my stall normal at 21 days?" "Is it ok if I (whatever obvious thing we are not supposed to do, that has been published not to do by respectable sources or explained not to do by our surgeon, nutritionist, bariatric nurse, etc.)? I know the answer is no, but I am hoping that someone with no medical background or any knowledge of my medical condition vindicates my harmful and dangerous actions." Have a wonderful day! PS. Shame on you if you thought this post was going to match the title.
  9. Congratulations. Have your surgeon and obstetrician discuss this ASAP.
  10. Congratulations. Have your surgeon and obstetrician discuss this ASAP.
  11. I just read your post where you were concerned you would be denied the surgery because you were not fully following your pre surgery diet. Why would you even consider eating this a day before your surgery?
  12. Keep up the great work and wait until the appropriate phase post WLS to enjoy those in modeartion.
  13. Congratulations on your Variatric surgery and the Veginning of a new you. You will feel much Vetter tomorrow. Sorry for having fun with the veen mispelling, me Vad!
  14. Congratulations on the fantastic effort you have put in to lose your excess weight! Also, HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY!
  15. Would the two of you get a room already!!!!
  16. I never had dumping syndrome, but yes to the discomfort and vomiting -although it isn't, at least for me, a full emptying of the stomach (only some was brought up) when I ate too much. Here is an illustration of what happens when you overeat and have a VSG, that I found in a JAMA publication:
  17. It is cheaper to buy the 10oz bags of chips, but can you buy the packages with individual 1oz servings and keep that package out of the kitchen area, preferably in an out of the way location you may not frequent as much? This way he can take the 1 serving size and not leave an opened bag of chips wherever you may store them. As a bonus, for him, he is only eating 1 serving at a time. If you can't just eat a few potato chips, I know my willpower is still not very good for things like only a few chips, maybe make some kale chips for yourself as a treat once in a while.
  18. 3 weeks ago I had a take home sleep study performed. I no longer need to wear the CPAP machine since I no longer have sleep apnea due to the weight I lost (Happy dance time). It is not guaranteed that you will no longer have sleep apnea/require the use of a CPAP machine, but there is a good chance you may not as you lose your excess weight. I wouldn't recommend stopping on your own. Have a study performed after you lost most of your excess body weight. Also, just because you may still snore after you lose that excess weight, it doesn't necessarily mean you still have sleep apnea.
  19. The "How much weight did you lose?" question bothers me a little. Not because I feel it is intrusive, but because I am embarrassed of how obese I allowed myself to become. People who have asked I honestly tell them; they have always been very happy for me and supportive. Sometimes a little shocked because they didn't realize I weighed that much.
  20. I want a forum exclusively for albino, dwarf, lesbian, Eskimo women who are vegetarians, are cross-eyed and have a lisp. But alas, I will be excluded from that group, I don't have a lisp.
  21. I was thinking the opposite end of the digestive tract would have been more appropriate for the rude people.
  22. You should have asked them "are you going to have surgery to remove your cranium from your rectum?".
  23. Congratulations on your fantastic weight loss efforts so far!
