  1. Anyone know of any gummy type vitamins? I bought Celebrate chewable Multivitamin but it is BIG and tastes a little chalky.
  2. Walking should help some with gas pains.
  3. Went to my pre op appointment today and my surgeon told me my BMI was 40.38 when I first went to see him and thats what counts. So Hopefully tomorrow When I call insurance I will get my approval its been 2 weeks. I am excited!
  4. I was drinking 3 to 4 (12oz) Diet Dr Peppers per day. I started a few weeks ago lowering the amount of cans then I would buy the 20oz bottle and drink half for breakfast and half for lunch at work. I finally just stopped buying them. The dietician said ok to decaf tea with splenda or stevia. Also infusing water with limes, lemons or oranges it taste pretty good. I cut the peel off since it gives a bitter taste to the water. Also making fresh limeade and lemonade.
  5. Well it is day 3 and I didn't get a headache today. Also trying to get plenty of sleep. My worst frustration has been finding what to drink. Finally made it to the store and going to try decaf tea if ok with dietician. I have my pre op appointment tomorrow at 8am and I will ask. Thanks for your advice and encouragement. I am so glad the caffeine addiction is out the door! !
  6. Now that I think of it neither was I. They said high protein shakes, sugar free and full liquids. I think my thought was to get over soda and caffeine before surgery since after surgery it would be more difficult for me. Today has been better.
  7. 2 days Diet Dr Pepper free! Today was harder than yesterday. Had nagging headache that seemed to minimize around 8pm. I'd rather do this before i start my pre op diet on 7-27. Good luck to all working on giving up caffeine.
  8. I remembered this morning today is your day. Good luck it's all going to be great. Let us know how you are doing once you feel up to it. My sleeve is August 10th.
  9. Thanks for the encouragement. It has been 7 days but the 4th of July holiday was part of those days I did call BCBS and confirmed they had my paperwork. They told me notes are not made until the decision is made. Also said they have 15 days to review.
  10. Yes I do have 2 years at 206 lbs 5 ft 1 in. For BMI of 38. I feel pretty good about getting approval. Just wanted to see how it has gone for others. what phase are you in for surgery?
  11. With BCBS Federal so far I paid 35 for psychology visit, 35 for surgeon visit, 100 for sleep apnea home study, 200 for surgeon to do EGD, 360 for hospital oupt. For EGD, 280 for the cpap, nothing for dietician, my 2 days in hospital for surgery will be 350.00. I dont remember if I pay surgeon anything for surgery. I guess this is not too bad.
  12. Anyone had BMI of 38 and gotten approved with Federal BCBS? I am waiting to hear from them. I do have Diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, high cholesterol and osteoarthritis. All these are new this year and decided sleeve could help me be rid of some. Hope to hear from others who have bcbs fed.
  13. Congrats! hoping to get my call soon.
  14. Dr Richard Peterson UT Medicine Westover Hills
  15. August 10th for me! I find myself thinking about my new self contanstly. Each time i can't do something easily or take my medicine or use my cpap at night I just feel an overwhelming hope of being able to be rid of them. July 16th is preop boot camp. July 27th full liquid diet starts. I will do what I gotta do!!!
  16. Me to. I am in the exact boat as you. Waiting to hear. It was submitted 7-1-15. They did give me a surgery date of August 10th pending approval. Good luck!
  17. Got the date August 10th in San Antonio ! !
  18. I have my date August 10th its also my Birthday month! So excited. I have a pre op class on July 16th.
  19. I got the call and surgery date is August 10th. I am excited. They still need to submit for approval. My only concern is the 2 year weight management history - in 2013 my BMI was 38 and this could be my only hold up. But I have faith and know this is going to happen for me.
  20. I chickened out in 2014. My brother went through with it and feels great, looks great and no more sleep apnea. This is my year. He and I both have same insurance and similar history so I think I should get approved. I started my journey up again in January and finished everything last week. Just waiting for the "call" now. Can't wait!!
  21. Not yet. I did call yesterday and my chart is with nurse for review. Once she clears it they will call me to schedule a date. Congrats on getting your dates. Scope is so easy. Sedation is good and I felt good after - not sleepy at all. Only thing is females under 55 need a pregnancy test so ask before you go to the bathroom. Especially since you will not be able to drink fluids.
  22. Best wishes! Like a dream come true.
  23. Mini_mr007 have you heard back? I am also waiting.
  24. Well all my paperwork and testing is complete and submitted to nurse for review. If all goes well i should get my call to set up "the date". I can't believe I finally reached this point!
  25. I want to get the starter kit from unjury- many of the posts say they are good products. Its time to get ready!
