  1. The fact that you are trying to imply your comparing apples to apples, when in fact it's apples to oranges in your original post. Its been disproven many many times. Its not that you side with conservatives. Its your petty references to misleading stories that conservatives use that lost my respec. I don't play that game. The environmental "wackos" also fight for clean drinking water and fight for regulations against companies that pollute. Pollution that has been documented to cause cancer, birth defects, miscarriages, and other health problems. Environmental wacko's and "green" legislatures try and incorprate everything that is good for this world. These people get stopeed alot of time, get lumped into the global warming aint really happening thing and get booted out and called socialists by the very people you get your ideas from. When you post misleading threads like this you hurt a man that fights for not just global warming but a overall clean planet. And for what? Your stance on global warming? Post your research on the subject, don't try and bring down a man with falsehoods. Go ahead, argue that global warming is not happening and isn't the fault of ours. There's scientific evidence to support both theories. So from a scientific standpoint it could go either way. Here's an arguement that had me thinking really hard on the abortion issue. It probably works well here too. With all the facts on global warming, not one scientist that is against this theory could prove it wrong. So: And if it is would you risk the entire planet? One last comment. I lost even more respec for you after the wacko comment. It just proves that if my views aren't the same as yours we are "wackos". That mighty nice of you. Calling people who believe in something that could save our lives and humanity and might just save our world "wackos" . Oh wait, you just called every religious person who "Wanted to talk to me about Jesus" a wacko.
  2. The point I first made was that stories like "Gore said he invented the Internet" are just like what you originally posted about Gore's house and the comment about Gore's financial (which is another topic I won't get into because apparently you just read off right wing headlines). You then quoted the one sentence to asked me what my point was. Problem is you don't. What you originally posted about Gore's house was only on headlines on right wing websites and talk shows because it looks bad IF YOU DON'T RESEARCH IT AND SEE WHAT THE REAL DIFFERENCES OF THE HOUSES ARE. Comparing those two houses would be like saying a family of 8 is not environmentally conscious because they use more energy then the family of 3's vacation home. Problem I have now is I had respect for you in the other threads and thought you would be different then the other right wing fanatics out there. But now I see just because they say they are the "Party of God" you have go and drink their Koolaid. Its so sad too. Good luck with stopping abortions. Never mind the fact that environmentally induced abortions happen often and are NOT the woman's choice but yours!
  3. Here's a comment from Monica Grenfell ( a formal Miss England Judge). She does a pretty good job explaning herself. Heres the article if your interested, although she didn't convince me. A role model for ordinary women? No, Miss England finalist is fat, lazy and a poster girl for ill health | the Daily Mail
  4. I'll be moving to Florida and see there is alot more organizations for the Fair Tax movement. There has been alot of organziing for state fair tax here in Michigan but not sure if it will make the ballot or not. Wondering if anyone else loves, hates, or is curious about this tax proposal. I was skeptical at first. Still not sure if it's perfect but better then what we have now. Here's their main site if your interested! Americans For Fair Taxation: LOL, thanks pippinje!!! Here it is!
  5. Well, I was looking at your posts and multiple articles and you can easily put 2 &2 together. Also, I thought with your last you stated that you DO believe global warming and humans at fault. Wish is why I thought it was bull because of your other statements. Sorry my bad. Fine, but its obvious that you let right wing stories that prove to be inconsistent with your message inform you. That's sad. Point to one article I linked to from a "left wing site" or a left wing talking point? This is Gore's full quote: So if Gore meant initiative, the way your considering it. He then would have not only stated that he personally created the Internet but personally cleaned all those factories, personally designed every environmental invention, and single handily taught all teachers how to teach their children. Or you can get your head out of all the right wing websites and stop listening to your local right wing blather and realized that Gore meant he worked in congress to promote and support the creators of the Internet. Which many communications and university leaders have stated themselves at the time. It's sad cause Gore lost alot because he didn't think he had to defend himself on this issue. But he was wrong. There is tons of people blinded by their own party's/ideology's rhetoric. I would never post stupid sound bites like these. Sure, if I was the same as you but a lefty, I could post comment from Dick Cheney when he said "so?" when asked what he thought about the 68% of Americans who are against the war. Of course I could link tons of left wing articles that quote this and you could say "omg! Chaney hates the American people!". But I don't. Because I actually went back and read the whole article and saw he commented that decisions in war cannot be made on the swaying public opinion. I still don't agree with him, but i ain't going to link crap when it's not true. Only people who can't think for themselves do that. Including the 100 spam emails i get from friends and family that read "omg Hillary is trying to kill someone!" or "Bush is tied to 9/11!". Sorry, this should be its own R &R thread. But i just can't stand it when people link or email this kinda of rubbish. Not only cause they are false, but because alot of people believe them. Hell, my own (Democrat for life) mother asked if "I would be comfortable voting for a Muslim because she was thinking about voting for Obama too. I sat there with this look on my face:
  6. That wold put her at about the "healthy range" at that height and weight. As I guy, she looks great. (err, I know she is only 17). However, if she was severly overwieght or obese I might have problem with it. Not because she would not look good enough, but because I think it would send a bad message to other girls. I am sorry, even those I am morbidly obese, I think children should grow up thinking healthy. But again, the girl looks great, glad she had the confidents to go through with it and hope to see pageants more like that over in the U.S.
  7. After being the Original Poster to this nice right wing talking point and then this comment above. Following the article posts I can guarantee your not serious at all about your last reply. Don't let Bush fool you. He will be out of the crap hole the first chance he gets. Try getting both sides of the story before you copy/paste right wing propaganda. I suppose your one of those people who went around posting the "Gore said he invented the Internet" story years ago, before actually taking the time to see what he actually said.
  8. Sure, I guess there wasn't a reoccurring theme to them.
  9. 1st article doesn't prove anything, either side of the argument. 2nd article. I didn't even read. I won't read an article that has a advertisement for a t-shirt that says "I'd Rather be Waterboarding". 3rd article starts: Ya, ONE guy says hold on! If you put the same thinking about this topic as you do abortions, then maybe you would see globle warming as a potential threat we maybe able to control.
  10. editing to delete rude quoted post Is this really GeezerSue?

  12. Network Administrator - Thought it was a great job till I noticed I wsn;t getting any exercise like my old jobs. Old jobs included AppleBee's Manager Sous Chef at Country club Cable modem installer Printing Press operator. I get little exercise cause I can remote form my laptop into just about anything, so I don't even have to get out of my chair. :cursing:
  13. From a guy's point of view; I don't like those tops either. Very few woman I seen in tops like those look good to me.
  14. I didn't tell my family until a 6 months after getting my bachelors. They were pretty pissed. But I had a nice graduation party in high school so didn't want to waste people's time and money. I just don't see what all the hub bub is about graduating. I rather Celebrate after graduating, when I got my high paying job
  15. Basically, eating low to no carbs puts your body into a high fat burning mode. This is why atkins got so popular cause your body would burn fat even wtih no exercise. Basically sugars are fast burning and if your not exercising then your body thinks that your body doesn't need to use the energy and goes into fat storage mode. With no carbs your body process the energy slowly and thinks your body needs the energy now and goes into fat burning mode. This is why alot of atikins diet feel they have more energy.

I'm sad to say that I am one of those people. My handwriting is horrible. If I write in cursive it is illegible. If I print, it looks like a 4 year wrote it. Guess thats why I got into computers, hehe.
  17. I'm am mostly talking about college students. The teachers are more concerned about giving out "A"s rather then giving students the chance to learn. It's not all teachers, but I can tell you about 70% of the people that will be graduating with me with a degree in computer networking, wouldn;t know the first thing to do if they got that job. It's becuase most classes I took the teacher would give out a test and if you failed they would give out an easier test. I talked with a director my parents knew and he laughed and said the same thing I just said, "teachers too busy giving out A's rather then teaching students to earn an A." He went on to say that the teachers are critiqued by average grades and student feedback forms. Sad. However the same goes with parents. Maybe its me, but it seems more parents blame schools rather then their children no matter what the problem is. Thats just wrong. My parents were vary involved with the schools when me and my bro & sisters were there. We didn't get away with nothing and I would probably get smacked if I tried blaming it on a teacher.
  18. I agree parents ahve alot to do with it. But I just went back to college and cannot beleive the things I hear students and teachers talking about when it comes to " getting around the system". Speaking of parents, you ever watch "Wife swap" TV show? If you do you will remember this episode. If you can't watch all 5 minutes skip the 2:00 mark and watch from there about her school work. Too funny! Oh and don;t get me started on beauty teen mom's! Here's the link! 19. "The central holding of Roe v. Wade was that abortions are permissible for any reason a woman chooses, up until the "point at which the fetus becomes ‘viable,’ that is, potentially able to live outside the mother's womb, albeit with artificial aid. Viability is usually placed at about seven months (28 weeks) but may occur earlier, even at 24 weeks."The Court also held that abortion after viability must be available when needed to protect a woman's health, which the court defined as broadly in the companion case of Doe v. Bolton. These court rulings affected laws in 46 states." No, I would still be arguing the above decision. However, remember that the supreme court has to consider the Constitution before making a decision. So any changes to the constitution could change me and the judges decision. Sure and yes they were wrong. Doesn't mean the supreme court is wrong now. What else qualifies a life as human life that would set dead person apart from a live human? A heartbeat? Brain function? A doctor pronounces death when there is no longer a heartbeat for a period of time where the brain would not survive. Which is why earlier I said you could argue that after 6-8 weeks you might consider the fetus alive. I would not make it illegal but like any other semi risky procedure I would rather have them use something else like pills as birth control rather then that. But see the difference between you and me is that I would educate as many woman against the procedure and more towards abstinence and/or birth control but wouldn't arrest anyone when they opted for abortion. A gotcha moment would be like the question about what makes a black person human. Most prochoice people off the cusp would probably say " black people have the same DNA has other human" You would then say "GOTCHA! fertilized eggs have DNA so why aren't they human beings". It's quite comical because I've been in these arguments alot and the minute you posted the comment about slavery I knew where the gotcha was. However, your right. Some of your comments have made me think twice. It hasn't changed my mind yet but you never know!
  20. Wow, didn't know church goer was a four letter word. As a matter of fact when someone asks if I am religious I tell them I'm a church goer. Guess I better get to confession and pray God doesn't strike me down.
  21. Only answering these because you didn't see the other post: 1. Same as what the supreme court says, when the child is no longer Dependant of the mother for sustaining its own life. Think 27 weeks? I think they go from when the lungs are developed. However you could make the argument to me that life may start when the child develops a heartbeat AND has its circulatory system closed form the mothers. Which would be at 6-8 weeks. However, I will stick with the court's decision. 2. Vaginal stretching is not the only thing that can happen in a live birth. And that doesn;t even count for the severely deformed babies. Again, I support the partial birth ban if there is a medical necessity clause in it. I would then like to See our medical informations laws changed so that it is clear why the doctor is doing this procedures and others. 3. Black people like every other race shares the same DNA structure. And no, I don't believe because that fertilized egg has the same human dna' that it is human. A dead person has human DNA and if I stabbed one in the head I wouldn't be a murderer. 4. I said bad. That procedure is not the easiest of procedures. A woman could be scarred in the womb making them unable to have kids ever again. Also like most procedures theirs a small chance of death. Which is why I don't support any women who use abortions like their monthly birth control. I see you only want me to give answers that a typical pro lifer would give so you can throw back into my face. However, just because I didn't answer in that doesn't mean I didn't answer them. 2 of those questions I did answer but you didn't get me in that "gotcha corner. The other 2 you never asked me while we were on the subject. Again, only responding in respect to you and the fact you didn't read my last post before asking the questions.
  22. It's getting worse and worse because of how the school systems are. Especially in college. More and more, it seems teachers and students work together to find loopholes instead of finding a ways for the student to improve and obey the rules. Students more then ever think cheating is fine. Alas, that's what our society is coming to. Not blaming the teacher in this specific case, but I'm sure the student's previous teacher didn't help them.
  23. For anyone to give an opinion on what you are doing wrong you might have to go into detail what you are doing right now. How much do you eat in a day? What do you eat? Are you exercising? How much? Do you fell hungary throughout the day? NOTE: I SUGGEST POSTING YOUR QUESTION AND YOUR DIET/EXERCISING DETAILS IN A SPERATE THREAD SO PEOPLE WILL SEE IT AND RESPOND.
  24. LOL, I didn't mean it that way But too true!
