    Ewww this is horrible

I had to go in and get 2 bags of fluids and a banana bag the first week. It helped a lot. I only threw up a few times after that and then I started to tolerate food/water a lot better. I also have to take the prilosec 2ce a day or else i wake up in the middle of the night with what feels like chest pains but is probably heart burn. I still can't drink the powdered Protein drinks, they gross me out and makes me nauseous. I have tried premixed Proteins like muscle milk and pure protein which i can tolerate. I usually get the muscle milk with 40 grams of protein and it takes me about 3 sittings in the day to get down the whole thing. It does have 220 calories but when I couldn't keep anything down 220 calories with 40 grams of protein is not too bad. If it seems too thick I have mixed a little skim milk with it. Good Luck! I hope you start feeling better!

My surgery was April 20 and I threw up everything for the first week. It's gotten better but I still can mostly only tolerate soups and liquids. It has gotten better but it feels like forever since I have eaten something that tastes good that doesn't make me nauseous.
  5. Thanks everyone. I feel better now. I think they were too thick/dry. Note to self...baby steps.

    My first nsv!

I am doing pretty good. Started pureed this week. The only thing I have found that taste good and my sleeve likes is cottage cheese and string cheese. I had an egg last night and it tasted good but I felt sick after, same thing tonight with refried beans. I guess I'll stick to yogurt and cottage cheese. The great news is I have lost 24 pounds in the 16 days since surgery!!!
  7. I tried eggs last night and they were good but then I felt kind of sick after. I just tried refried beans and my body seems to hate them. I am also grossed out by the fake sugar in all the sugar free stuff I am allowed to have. I guess I'll eat cottage cheese for a while.

    My first nsv!

I am also 2 weeks out. Congrats!!!
  9. I am 2 weeks out and on pureed foods and just tried refried beans and I don't know it I ate too fast or what but I feel like my chest is exploding. I took tiny bites and chewed it to death and thought I ate slow enough....maybe my sleeve just doesn't like beans???
  10. I finally turned a corner after the first week of throwing up every 5 seconds. I am almost able to get in my water and protein! Yeah me! Today I started pureed foods. I had cottage cheese for lunch and a scrambled egg with cheese for dinner. My doc wants me to get 600 calories a day and wants me to eat 3 meals with no snacks. I'm sort of confused because without snacks I can't get 600 calories? So what was everyone's favorite pureed food at this point? And snack? Oh and protein? Everything is so sweet it kind of grosses me out...which is weird since I used to love sweets. How are all you other April sleevers doing? Btw...I've lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks! Yeah me!
  11. I would love to join the group!

    Day 5 post op

I don't really have any pain just the nausea. Doc sent me to hospital for 2 bags of fluid and a banana bag. I feel a little better. Now I need to try and get some protein in.

    Day 5 post op

The doc gave me 2 meds for nausea, one for stomach spasms and one for stomach protection. They help a little but I continue to throw up/dry heave. Every day is a little better but I'm worried about dehydration.
  14. I had my surgery on Monday and am still throwing up. The only thing I can drink are tiny sips of water and 1/3 sugar free Popsicle. I have only been able to drink 4-8 ounces of water in a day and can't keep it all down. Did anyone else have this problem and how long did it last?
  15. Today is the big day! Surgery is in 2 hours and I cannot wait. Labs check, hot anesthesiologist check. I'm ready to get this party started!
