I have been 1 week into my pre-op diet. Surgery is next week 4/23. I have tried several different shakes, and Premier vanilla, chocolate, & strawberry Creme are awesome so far, but not buying too many yet.
sugar free popsicles & Jello have been my savior!
My issue is not staying full. I can't find a chicken broth that taste any good. I really want the chicken broth they serve in the hospital, and can't find it.

My surgery is scheduled next week, April 23!! I am 1 week into the pre-op diet, and still feeling a bit hungry. I know I'm not drinking Water like I should, so I am pushing myself today.
Getting so excited! I am obsessed with looking at before & after photos! I am sure I'm not alone......lol

If all goes well, I should be headed towards Sleeve surgery on May 7th.
I need to initiate conversations with my boss this week and get my time off on the calendar. Getting the time off will not be a problem.
I have a good relationship with my boss and his supervisors as well.
I am not going to be able to go into his office and say "I need to be out 2 weeks due to surgery" and then leave it at that. He is going to be concerned (which is good) and I feel like leaving it open ended will be the most uncomfortable path to take.
So, I think I am going to say I am having a hernia repair. I met someone the other day that I had thought was a WLS surgery patient because they had obviously lost a lost of weight. I asked her for advice and she said that she actually did not have WLS surgery but did have hernia surgery (two hernia's actually) and she had to follow a similar diet that us WLS patients follow, thus the weight came off for her.
That planted the seed in my mind. I can simply say hernia repair and when the questions come about losing weight, I can say that I have to follow a diet due to the surgery and I am continuing the diet for my health.
I typically like to be straight up with people and be direct but we all know their is a judgemental stigma that comes with weight loss surgery and I don't want to deal with that (especially when I will be dealing with enough of my own emotions anyway).
Ok -- feel free to comment.

Scheduled for Tuesday. Still on pre-op liquids and continuing to go to the gym. I'm trying to get everything done and in order...feels like I'm nesting. Only baby I'm getting this time is a baby tummy. ????

Hi there, you're my twin!!! I'm having surgery on the 23rd and start my liver shrinking diet on the 9th. Like you I started dieting about 8-9 weeks ago and have lost 15 pounds already. My goal is to have lost 20 pounds by the time I have surgery.
Also like you I have a VERY good support system but there are still those who doubt my efforts, the process, the success rates, you name it, they have their reasons. Some have even suggested that I talk with people who were not successful with their surgeries. I look at this and think... "isn't that like talking to a drunk who has failed to get sober and using HIS reasoning to justify keeping on with drinking?" So I have chosen to continue seeking the support of those who do love and care for me and to find additional support in reading of the success of others on this site.
Keep on thinking positively and all will work out. I would love to keep in touch with you and see how you make it through this diet. Private message me anytime you want.

    Hello All,
I am new here, and have been going through the process for 5 months, and finally got my surgery scheduled last week. (April 23) I go to Pre-op on Thursday 4/9, and start my pre-op diet, although I have already kinda started to get me prepared. I have several friends and a family member who recently had the same surgery, and have had great results, so I am very excited!!! So anxious!!!
I have struggled with how to tell my co-workers what kind of surgery I am having, and some friends and family members haven't been very supportive. I am just leaning on the ones who are VERY supportive and know the struggle I have had with all my meds, illnesses, and being obese. I'm 100% ready!!!!!
    Thanks,
    ~Natalie
