Insurance requires failing. What?
Good luck and keep us updated!! I'm crossing my fingers. My doc only made me lose 10 pounds per insurance, and no gain.........I suceeded. I waited 5 months through all the checklist but it's worth the wait!! 1 year post surgery, and down 60 lbs, and feel so great now!!

Hair loss - Help?
Thank you all!! This makes me feel better. I was kinda in panic mode! lol I don't do well with Protein intake, so I am sure I could try to increase that. I need to go get my labs drawn again. I have a low thyroid, and low Iron, so I will focus on that too. I have lost 60 lbs and have hit a wall with that for the past few months. I just started doing roller derby, so I am working out a lot, and hopefully will start to lose again. I just hope the hair loss is over! I need my hair! lol

Hair loss - Help?
Help? I had my sleeve surgery a year ago, and I have lost over 50% of my hair. Anyone else have this problem, and what helps? Will it get better? I am taking daily Multivitamins, Biotin, & even trying Rogaine, but not seeing results yet. I used to have really thick hair, and now it's so thin and has no body at all. I am so depressed about it. Thanks ~Natalie

3 months
Congrats!! I am right there with you. I am almost 3 months post op and EXTREMELY happy with my weight loss and absolutely thrilled I chose this surgery. I am loving my transformation and things have gotten easier with my eating, so I feel complete almost. I am going on a mini vacation this weekend too for the first time. We are going tubing on the river, and I will be wearing a bathing suit and actually feel more comfortable. I can't wait!! Oh and I've lost a total of 40 lbs as of today, since pre-op, and 24 lbs since surgery! Have fun on your vaca!!

Birthday during week 3 post-op...help!
I had my 10 year wedding anniversary 1 week after surgery, and was a little bummed, but I made it fun. I had chicken tortilla soup at a Mexican restaurant (my hubs fav) and only ate the broth, and really enjoyed it, oddly enough! It will soon get so much easier. I am 2 1/2 months post op and things are really getting better! So happy with the weight loss, that everything else is minor! We are now trying to find a weekend to get away to actually enjoy our 10 yr anniversary soon. Good luck and Happy Birthday!!

Spicy food
I have always loved spicey foods, and am very thrilled that I have NO problems at all being able to eat all the spicey foods as I did before. I am 6 weeks post op, and just had jalapenos last night with no issues. Crawfish I tolerated well too! Good Luck in your journey! The first few days will be tough, but you will be so happy very soon!

Dumping Syndrome
But sorry! I had gastric bypass! Not the sleeve! (I'm 10 days post op) That's exactly what I experienced from 3 bites of breakfast sausage, only it lasted 2 hours of misery totally clearing my system. ????

Moving on to Solids!
I was sleeved 4/23, and lost 15 lbs since surgery. I mostly eat soups, cottage cheese, avocado, string cheese, applesauce, and yogurt. Soft cooked veggies are fine too. Scrambled eggs still is uncomfortable, as well as other things. I'm tired of soup!!!!

April 23rd Sleever!

Preop Diet
sugar free Popsicles saved me and still do! 4 weeks post op and doing well! My pre-op diet was 2 meals replaced with a Protein shake (I used Premier protein), and 3 oz of meat, 1 cup of veggies, 1 cup of fruit...snacks throughout the day were 1 cup of fruit, all I want chicken broth, sugar free Popsicles and jello! I made it by having a spoonful of Peanut Butter when I got hungry sometimes.

Dumping Syndrome
Did you go to the hospital? Hope you are feeling better. It took me two days before I quit feeling so bad. The day after I did not get all my protein- just focused on Water. Yes I went to hospital and got a bag of fluids and sent home. So much better today! It helped ALOT! Thanks for asking.

Dumping Syndrome
I just had dumping last night and it was awful. Felt like my intestines were twisted or something! I am nearly 4 wks post op. I had 3 bites of a breakfast sausage and scrambled eggs, but I'm sure the sausage did it. No more sausage for me!! Now I'm dehydrated and considering the hospital as we speak????

Pain in large incision area worsening
Thanks Y'all! I did contact my doctor, and she said it was completely normal. As I get more active, that muscle will have pains. She said I will have ups and downs for 4-6 weeks, until it heals. I feel better today! ~~Natalie

Pain in large incision area worsening
I'm almost 3 weeks post op, and my incisions have been feeling normal. Now, all of the sudden I'm having very painful burning sensation, and stretching feeling in my large incision area. I'm having to hold it in like it's gonna burst kinda. It doesn't look bad and no discharge. Anyone else have this pain? Worried about infection or hernia possibly....I will call my doc in the morning though. TIA

Is it normal...
I'm having the same issue. I am almost 3 weeks post op and just started to have more pain in my large incision, burning, like stretching pain. No puss, discharge, or heat though. I'm calling doc tomorrow. Ugh! I was doing so well too. I do have a toddler, so I may have overdone it!

Houston TX Area Surgeons & Costs
By the way, I still haven't found the absolute total of my out of pocket yet. I am 2 weeks post op, and I had to come up with half of my cost at time of surgery, which was $2400!! I wasn't expecting it to be this expensive, which is around $5000 out of pocket, after my Cigna insurance pays their 70%. I'm not to happy, but at least I had the surgery, and happy with my results so far. I'm doing good, and it will be worth it later!
