Just got the call this evening....my approval came through 1 day after it was submitted!! Surgery is on August 25th. I start liquid diet on the 11th!!

Hello fellow RN!! I am a nurse working in a hospital that performs WLS. There are many staff members that have had VGS which makes it helpful. I just completed my last of my 6 month required MD supervised diet and exercise program today!! I meet with my surgeon for my preop visit on Thursday and his RN tomorrow for teaching. They will submit to insurance on Friday for final approval. I have a tentative surgery date of August 25th!! I am so excited!! It's been a long 6 months. I have a lot of support from the fellow sleevers as well as from staff that know I'm having the surgery. My BMI is 40. Where are you at in this WLS process?

Hi everyone!! I just completed my final supervised nutrition class of 6 months!!!! I see my surgeon on Thursday and his nurse tomorrow. They will submit for final insurance approval this Friday!!! I have a surgery date pending insurance approval of August 25th. I am so excited!!!!

Talk to your surgeon....he/she will know the BMI cut off for your insurance as it relates to you and your co morbidities. I knew at my first appointment how much weight I could lose!

I don't take anything with it in it. I drink water and a cup of decaf coffee. My level was 1160, not sky high. Thank you for sharing. Good to know I'm not alone!!

Anyone else have/had an elevated B12 level pre op? I don't take any vitamins. My liver enzymes were normal, white count normal. Surgery is scheduled for August 25th. Hoping this doesn't delay it.
