    Soft/Pureed Recipes for strict doctor

Yes I can have fish and seafood of all kinds. Last night I did some Tilapia in the oven with onions, red pepper, butter and thyme. And I removed the veggies and ate just the fish. I still can only eat about 1 - 2 oz at a time right now. Saw the NUT yesterday and she just says individual things as well. Thanks.

    Soft/Pureed Recipes for strict doctor

I cannot have Soups, veggies, fruit, vegetable juice, pork or beef in this stage. Only cheese, dairy, Beans, poultry, fish, shellfish, eggs So all the soup and veggies would be great but my doctor does not support that.
  4. Hello All i need a little help coming up with some recipes for my pureed/soft food stage of my diet. My doctor is a lot stricter than some others. My Pureed/Soft food list is: Eggs, Beans (Hummus), Dairy (Cheese, Ricotta, Cottage, Greek Yogurt, Milk), Seafood, Poultry, Deli meats (no sugar, no rind) No: Fruits, veggies (potatoes, salsa, pasta sauce), nuts, beef, pork, carbs (bread, crackers, rice, pasta), Soup, sugar Does anyone have any good ideas for something this strict. I already thought about ground chicken, ground turkey, deviled eggs, eggs with turkey bacon and cheese, egg salad, tuna salad, deli turkey with hummus maybe. All ideas welcome. My Mom is an amazing cook so she is thinking on this one as well.
  5. With the NSAIDs I think I should follow the NO rule for this only because my husband hates me taking them anyway. But I will seek out other meds for both the migraines and the cramps if they continue. The truth is they may not even be an issue after surgery so I will have to take it one day at a time and just do what is needed. I appreciate everyone's shares and advice. I think this rule is a bit crazy and I do agree with Soonerjoseph you can get them normally from anything. However, if I can take away one of those ways, I feel that I should.
  6. Okay. Thanks everyone. I don't know what I will do after. My headaches & cramps too get super bad. Tylenol never helped me but maybe after the surgery everything will be a bit better and maybe it will work since I changed my chemistry.
  7. Hello - I am still pre-op but a friend of mine did the sleeve about 1 1/2 years ago and said he can take ibuprofen with no problem and the doctor said it was fine. My doctors preference said never take it. I have headaches that will transition into migraines and ibuprofen is the only thing that makes them stop. I also have major cramps at that time of the month and ibuprofen is the only thing that stops those as well. Need advice if just personal preference with the doctor and if other people post-op take ibuprofen and are ok with it? I notice that my diet from one surgeon to another is a drastic difference and the one I am scheduled with is a lot stricter. Also, advice on that. And coffee. I understand giving it up for the 1 week prior and even 2 weeks after but my doctor says 3 months and that once I start drinking it again no creamer even though I use fat free. Any alternatives out there. If not I will just have to give up coffee. I can not drink it black. I tried when I was on weight watchers and I was unable to do it. I tried skim milk, almond milk, soy mild all taste really bad to me in the coffee. I have added it to my vanilla Protein shake and that is not bad but I hope that is not the only solution. Differences include: Beef at 6 months verses steak at 3 months and hamburger at 1 month Lean pork at 1 month versus 3 months Toasted bread at 1 month verses liquid diet until 2 weeks post-op versus soft/puree foods at 2 days post-op No bread, rice, Pasta, no veggies, no fruit until at least 2 months post-op What was everyone elses food intake like? Thanks, Kami

    Whey Protein Issue

I will give the unjury a try for the unflavored. Does the Orgain have unflavored I can mix into the Soups and stuff. I really want to do no WHEY if possible but get as much Protein as I can from other sources. I have been doing my own protein shake diet with 1 shake breakfast, protein & veggies lunch, and dinner or breakfast & lunch shakes and dinner this has been 5 days a week for 2 years so I have tried a lot of different protein sources over that time. Do they sell UNJURY in any store or only online? I would like to try the Orgain as well. Do they have that one at Whole Foods and does it come in an unflavored one? Thanks for all the advice. I have tried the ProStat to add to my Water which is 15g protein per 2 tablespoons. There is no whey protein in that and I seem to handle it well. Its calories and protein 0 carb so it works well. I use EAS strawberry banana, EAS Fruits & Super Greens both have only 11 Proteins when I use my Almond Milk. I also use Spiru-Tein Protein 14 proteins mix of pea, soy, rice protein 0 fat, I am trying to find a good unflavored one to add to broth and soups for the 1st couple weeks post-op. My Mom made a bunch of little 4 oz containers for me with soups and broth for different weeks of the diet plan that I could add too. She drains all the fat after refrigerating the homemade broth and uses that in her cooking so it will be low sodium, low fat broth.
  9. Hello - I am pre-op for the sleeve and 2 weeks prior to surgery my diet will be Protein shakes and liquids only. The 1st surgeon I went to wanted me to do 7 slim fast shakes a day which seemed like a lot of calories. Also I can not tolerate whey Protein which I know is the best one out there. If I have more than one shake a day with Whey I feel sick to my stomach. For my daily diet I usually have a Protein Shake for Breakfast and one for lunch sometimes I use a whey shake but mostly I have plant or soy based Protein Shakes. I am meeting with another surgeon soon and hope that these will be acceptable for him. Does anyone know if these are ok pre-op liquid diet and if you can add fruit and other powders to your shakes if they are nonfat. Also I use Silk Almond Milk vanilla Unsweetened to mix with them and there is less than 1 gram of fat. Does anyone have any advice for someone with this particular digestive problem?

    Is this weird?!?

Everything that I have read says 2 weeks prior to surgery protein shakes & liquids only. So I do think this is a little strange that they did not give you a pre-op diet. My info says it is to minimize the fat cells in the stomach area at the time of surgery to make the surgery easier.
