  1. Hey 8 weeks out, can't eat or drink without invoking a gag reflex. I had to get hydration therapy 2 days ago which made me gain weight and I have not lost weight for almost 3 weeks now. Doctor said I lost weight but could do better... Are you kidding me???? I can't eat or drink and I am sick all the time and you want me to lose more??? HOW? I go in for an ultrasound today gallbladder may have to come out. and then another upper GI on Monday. Has anyone else been through this? I am trying so hard to remain optimistic but I am starting to get upset about this whole decision. Please pray for me to have patience with this process. Wow I thought i would feel better. sad.

  2. Gas was the worst but I walked right away to go to the bathroom and down the halls. I walked alot because the doctor told me beforehand that it would help with gas and it did. I used the pump like twice or 3 times and the first night they already took it off because I had gone so long without it. I still have pain at weeks post op but I had a hernia repaired and think it might be from that.

  3. It is so hard to help someone when they have these problems because we are all so different but in many ways we are all the same. I read stories and see myself in every one of them, I hope those that feel ill start feeling better and if you look around, you may be able to help someone else going through the same issues. I did regret what I did but I am learning to not regret it and accept it. Love to you all.

  4. @@Hertsukfem31, I know it seems so hard but the more you try to push yourself, the better you will do, I went to work after 2 weeks and I just went to bed at about 7:30 but I made sure I did my Protein and took Water to bed with me so I could sip each time I woke, I do still feel sick but... I know it is so hard, so so hard but it gets better really. I found a Protein Drink at costco for 18 dollars premade in little cartons that were 30 grams each. Choke 2 down and you are golden! :), I just try to make it a game now because food is of no interest to me.

  5. I'm 4 weeks post op and still eat about 4 tablespoons, I do not measure my ounces because when I do I get depressed. I just try to eat my food in small bites and sometimes it can take me awhile to eat. I try to eat scrambled eggs with some cheese which is really 1 egg and about a half ounce of cheese and it takes me about 40 minutes to eat it. I just focus hard on Protein and Water and try to make sure I get it all in. I feel full up in my chest too, not really in my stomach. I guess because I never felt full this is all new to me too. I think you are on track and doing well, I think I felt much better at 1 week and 1 day, so much so, I wrote it in my journal. Hang in there, it will change daily and you will start feeling better. <3

  6. @@Elode, that is so true, weird, I wake up each day smaller even if the scale doesnt move, seems impossible but I have witnessed it first hand, hang in there Sunflower we all took a long time to gain and I know it would feel so much better to lose it fast but after all the work, undergoing MAJOR surgery and still waking up each morning, you should Celebrate every ounce, you have earned it! And DON'T SLACK, look what you put yourself through to get here, never forget it!!! ,<3

  7. This was a favorite of mine while in the house due to the snow, there are tons of videos and they tell you the length of the walk, I have a little fitbit and that helps, just make it a game, I am 3 weeks post op and do the elyptical no pressure on the tummy muscles and its good for your cardio.

I hope it helps. Good luck. I miss my friend too so I got new friends :)

  8. The six months will go by faster than you think and I was thinking about the things your hubby says. Maybe he just needs you to be fat and insecure and knowing that you are making moves to be thin he is scared that you will learn what you have known all along. you are a strong, beautiful woman with confidence. You are a super threat and maybe he needs you vulnerable, I think the way you have been thinking it through will be good for you in the end. I watched every youtube video I could find, the good, the bad and the ugly but I prepared and it sounds like you are doing that too, all of your appointments in these upcoming months will make you learn and become a pro Good luck lots of prayers for you and your family :)

  9. I am 3 weeks post op, I took a week and a half off work and when I went back, however, I am a secretary and do not do any lifting, after my time off I started my exercise again and try to get in my 3 miles a day walking, that is the greatest feeling to walk and feel so good after. Just dont ask about my food intake.... :(

  10. They will give you something, just rest well and take in the experience.I went for a walk and a potty break 1 hr after I got in my room. and, when they tell you walking is good for the gas, that is so true,I walked and walked and it helped so much, every time I was uncomfortable we went for a walk in the halls, the nurse kept looking for me but knew he could find me out and about, stay strong and let it happen. The more you move the better you will feel post op, I never used the hard drugs for pain after that first day, the most pain I had was from the gas but the cuts never hurt me. The hard part is anxiety is always about what could happen so all you have to do is think happy thoughts and take you meds if you need to. I had weird dreams after the surgery too so be prepared and just let go and let God. btw don't be surprised

when you look down at your belly and its like a balloon :) gas gas gas :)

  11. My husband never EVER would have hurt me with the words your husband uses, maybe you need to drop 180 pounds of unsupportive man. My husband loved me thin, FAT, OBESE and will love me thin again, because it is me he loves not my weight, I hope he comes around but I also hope you make the right choice for you and what will make YOU happy, lots of love and I I pray for you to make the right decision for yourself, support is a big deal because this surgery is a very big deal. Good luck.

  12. I have been having trouble too, I was told to stay away from the scale because weighing yourself every day willmake you crazy. I had surgery the 23rd of Feb. and lost 20 pounds super fast but then, I stopped losing and have been the same for a week. I eat about 500 calories a day and feel it should be shedding so fast, look at other posts, I think we may be normal... dang it! :) hang in there, Im trying too. Just dont want to regret too much.

  13. I am 3 weeks post op, hate every bit of food I put in my mouth, cant keep food down and everything makes me sick. I live on less than 500 calories a day and have not lost weight for a week, I regret what I did and now I have new issues with food, I loved it, now I hate it, I hate Protein and I am not losing any weight and have constant nausea, what now? has anyone gone through this?
