I got a cold right before and was terrified they would cancel it. The dr ordered a chest X-ray and it was fine. Surgery went on as planned. I did fine

    HELP!

Remember you have a new stomach and it has to heal.. Sometimes we forget that because we can not see it. 8 weeks is not very little long. Be careful

Why Am I Dropping Weight So Slowly?

Don't let the scale have power over you in this journey. You will loss at all kind of rates. Sometimes the weight falls off and then there are times you will have a slow or no weight loss. Follow your plan and you will loss. Don't get discouraged.

    Dumb question:

My first month was no straw. Mainly to eliminate air in stomach while my new stomach was healing. I drink out of a straw from time to time now with no problems. Good Luck

How to Eat (Timing), Ability to Drink.

I could only eat about 1/4 cup or less at each meal. But it has gotten better. But it is still interesting at 8 months, that sometimes I fill up on a few bites and other times, I can eat 1/2 to 1 cup of food. Makes no sense,so I just roll with it. I listen to my body and when I approach getting full..I stop. I hate that stuffed feeling.
  12. Congratulations on your weight loss. You are going to be so amazed of your new life. Best thing I have done for "me". Everyone is different but remember it is a journey. It takes time to reach the protein and fluid goals but you will get there. One day at a time. Best of Luck
  13. At 57..it was my first time being in a hospital and never had surgery. I was very nervous but gave my fear over to God. He brought me through perfect. Also nag with a great medical team. I'm so glad I did it. Saved my life

    I feel so full...

You sound like your doing fine and things are normal. It takes a little while to get up to your goal for food and fluids. Give yourself time
  16. I was in the same place. I did take advantage of having my friend with me. Mostly for just support and knowing she was there. It was more for support. So glad I did. She is my strongest supporter.

    MILK

I have used the Fairlife skim but it does not seem to keep as well as other skim milks. It has great protein. Just wish it came in pints or quart size

    Is a big appetite common?

I'm 7 months post and I still do not get hungry. I have to keep my food/fluid journal to stay on track or I would never eat. It is the weirdest thing I could never of imagined my relationship with food to change so much. Plus my tastebuds have changed..so what I use to love does not taste all that great. Good luck on your journey

    Confused about B-12

I use Nature Made sublingual B-12. Melt in your mouth and work great. Got them at Walgreens, Safeway or Walmart. Cheaper at Walmart. My multi vitamin has 100% but my surgeon wants extra.
