Love most of them but my favorites are Choc brownie, vanilla almond, Apple pie and double choc chunk.
Only ones I don't like are Peanut Butter Choc (it's fine but I can't taste any peanut butter!) and banana nut

I browsed a couple of the dueling threads and my take on all of this is that there is quite a bit of truth on "both sides".
I remember a time when I was very emotionally vulnerable over the topic of weight, food and weight loss surgery. I had failed miserably with the band and it was humiliating. I lurked here for months and then posted quite selectively - it is very true that sharing certain things leave you vulnerable to perceived or real attack. I remember very small comments would sting a bit.
It was over time that my "emotional self pain" decreased and those same remarks were not experienced that way.
However, as my mother used to say "It takes 2 to Tango"
On this forum, it usually takes 3-6 to really throw down good..haha... but drama is pretty easy to avoid. Just don't engage.

I haven't tried any of their other products, but Quest bars are my go to Breakfast. Double chocolate chunk is my current favorite.
Quest was having a free bar giveaway a few weeks ago. Check to see if that is still on. Otherwise, buy one of their variety packs. Everyone seems to have their own (strong) opinions about the bars. You'll have to taste them for yourself.

I have eaten a Quest bar everyday since surgery! I'm in love with these bars. I like the chewy texture and they make me feel like i'm cheating. lol By far my favorite is the vanilla Almond. The banana nut one is awesome warmed up for like 8 seconds in the microwave. The Cookies and cream is pretty good. The smore's is soooooo sweet that I really don't care that much for them and i'm a sweet eater bah leeve me! I like the Peanut Butter and jelly one too! even though it sounds kinda weird. You are just gonna have to try em out and see what you like. I haven't tried any of their other products yet.

I too found some posts rather rude and judgemental and found it was rather putting me off this site. However it did not take me long to realise that it was pointless trying to reason with some people and that I did not value their opinion anyway.
I simply blocked their posts so that I never had to swallow their bile and now these people simply do not exist for me.Just go through the posts and you will soon see which names crop up regularly in conflicts then erase them from your life and make your experience of this site much better.Pippinleicester.

I completely agree! This isn't just any support board or Internet forum. This is a site where people come to talk about their struggles, reveal weaknesses, and Celebrate what they have overcome! I'm pretty taken back by some of the responses I've read during my short time on this board and I've been on many support boards through my pregnancies, when I was a military spouse, being a mom, and now WLS. I'm all for tough love, but that doesn't mean it has to be borderline condescending and self righteous. Tough love is just that, it's tough and to the point, but it's the love part that I see being omitted sometimes. We all come from different walks of life, and this is the internet so no one really "knows" anyone or what their reaction will be, so regardless of the kind of delivery you prefer to give, I think it's best to be mindful of who is on the other side of the screen. I don't think anyone expects someone to be artificial and fake, but Just use normal manners as you would talking to a stranger face to face. Im sure it's harder for some, But WLS is already hard enough without all the drama!

I agree. I think even though we are human and have the right to our own opinions in life, this is a support group and need to be positive to one another. We have not a clue what is going on within others personal lives and this could possibly be the only way that someone is able to get the encouraging support they are seeking. I will not trash anyone else's personalities or need for advice. I have asked numerous question and looked to my fellow users for info and support. I just wish everyone luck and hope they succeed within their own journeys.

Call your nutritionist. You probably need a PPI, but you also need to make better food choices. Whether you are allowed full liquids, purees or soft foods the rules are the same; Protein first, then veg and gets your fluids.
Failure to do this can not only leave you malnourished because you are filling that tiny space with the wrong things, it can lead to extreme hair loss. Call your nutritionist and get back on plan.

It's not too late for swimsuit season for you! Losing weight is hard work, with or without surgery, for sure. There are a million diets out there, so you just have to find one you can actually do. I guess one suggestion is to eat a diet like WLS people need to eat. Protein first, non starchy vegetables, limit carbohydrates. Of course you'd need a little more food, but count the calories and keep them to around 1200. I think many of us have learned that the carbohydrates cause cravings and lead to increased consumption and slow weight loss. Of course, don't forget to increase your activity, and drink your Water.
Incidentally, losing just 10% of your body weight greatly reduces your risk for obesity related conditions. Good luck.

What's amazing and wonderful about boards like this one is that anyone ever answers another person's questions or offers advice that was requested. It's amazing and wonderful that knowledge is exchanged in this way.
And every online community like this one finds its own equilibrium. Those balances change over time, but in social media a balance is always struck.
@@ProjectMe is also right that almost everyone here is living a life with challenges that others cannot see.
Since my own WLS (seven months ago), here's a short list of my new challenges, in addition to working full time and being the family member responsible for the care of my mother who has advanced Alzheimer's disease:
    * I also recovered from gallbladder surgery.
    * My hubby was diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing radiation and chemo.
    * Our sweet, beloved dog died.
    * My husband's adult son died of a stroke after a month's hospitalization and hospice care.
    * My father-in-law was just diagnosed (last week) with cancer.
No one stays on these boards any longer than they wish or any longer than they receive value or any longer than the effort to contribute exceeds their enjoyment. I would urge everyone here to look for the fun in life, the cloud's silver lining, the joke that brings a smile ... and to quit being so outraged at stuff that really does not matter.
None of us is getting out of here alive, so in the meantime let's try to do our best and have some fun before we go.

I am so sorry you are going through so much right now! My heart went out to you! Please take care of you and yours through this difficult time in your families lives!

I personally would rather build people up. It's like in life...Always keep the positive around you. You can choose what you read and who you respond to in a forum. So many amazing people in BariatricPal. It far out weighs the people that choose to drag people down.

Hun at this point there's no going back, the sleeve is only a tool, we make the decision on what we put in our mouths. My dietician thoroughly explained to me what the diet entailed both pre-op and post-op, so I don't understand how you couldn't have known? But since you say you didn't the only thing you can do now is stop sabotaging yourself and stick to the plan as closely as possible. Right now our stomachs are healing, so it's very dangerous to just try anything at this point. I know it sucks, I'm in the same process you are in now, but trust your surgeon and team, they want nothing but success for you!

foreversleeved08 reacted to LipstickLady in Hello and welcome to our newest forum!
As many of you know, we have a "powder Room" for our chickies. Those rooms are meant to be "safe places" where the boys could discuss their issues (do you really grow an inch with each 10 pounds lost!?!!) and the girls can discuss theirs (oh my gawd, the never ending period).
Often times, we've noticed that the boys tiptoe into the girls' room inadvertently and vice versa. Some people get a bit touchy about it and others LOVE the input/ideas/opinions that the opposite gender brings. So here we are!
Feel free to discuss any issue you want that's adult related and might not belong in the view of those who are more "delicate" or easily offended. The other forums still exist, but this room will allow us to monitor that one a bit more closely. Just remember, this is not a hook-up room or a meat market. We have the singles room for that.
Have fun and learn from each other!

Monday, I found out that a coworker died suddenly because of an aneurism. One of my friends underwent surgery to remove a tumor...6 hours of surgery later, it was actually many tumors and now needs to go through chemo & radiation therapy. My sister in law just had a double mastectomy and is half way through Chemo.
Yet we (veterans, newbies, & the in between) are on a support board arguing with one another over some petty stuff in comparison. SMH. Isn't it exhausting to be mean, condescending, judgemental, sarcastic, and argumentative? Goodness gracious!
