I guess I am one of those who doesn't mind answering questions, because I was there once, as well. So it takes up a bit of time. I've been sick this past month, so what else do I have to do? If I can help someone, I will. My problem. If I can't take the time to help, what does that make me? When I first started on this site, I didn't know about the search option, so I didn't use it. I admit I am pretty naïve about computer crap. And I don't wish to get too educated on it, either! I also try and answer those questions, if I can, that no one else seems to reply to, and that is because I don't want anyone to feel abandoned. This surgery stuff is very scary, even for us who have been operated on dozens of times. It's a scary thing to go it alone. Stupid to do it? Patient enough to care? Wasting my time? Mine to waste, mine to care, NEVER alone...

Yes, it is easier to read a post with good grammar. However some people have not had the opportunity to learn good grammar. They should feel comfortable here anyway. This isn't Harvard Law Review.
Perhaps you could consider blocking posts from members whose grammar continually offends you.
I think most folks here have already experienced enough criticism and are here looking for a safe place to become more informed.

I'm almost 5 months post op and I'm down 96 lbs from my highest weight. I'm only 34 lbs from my ultimate goal weight. Despite my Mirena IUD, I've been ovulating multiple times a month and have had quite a few periods. My facial hair hasn't changed much and my head hair has been falling out but my blood pressure and blood work is all perfect!! Hopefully the picture below will encourage you!

Hello Newbie here! So it has been a long journey for me almost five years I have been a bad yoyo'er I've lost 100 and gained it back at least 2xs. So I finally went thru the long process for the second time. 1st time I had no insurance .. Very difficult this time I have great insurance and have finally been approved! Finished all the requirements pre-op is scheduled for March 30th and I received my paper work from my Dr. Office today advising of pending scheduling for surgery. I'm excited, but looking through the paperwork I noticed the procedure code ( I work for the insurance co) and I knew it was not the surgery that I signed up for. I initially requested the duodenal switch. However VSG has been approved. I was feeling a little disappointed but after reading the comments in starting to feel a little more like God always knows best and this must be better for me. I have a lot of weight to lose. The last time I weighed in I was 442, highest weight being 520. I am ready to work hard I just hope that I have success with this option. So I'm waiting for the nurse to call in the morning with a date and in the meantime I really want to know if there are any of you who have had success starting from a higher weight. Sorry so long :-)

That sounds just like me. They screwed up at my surgeons office and had me come back in to re-do my initial consult again and kept promising me they would fast track everything. I have been calling and emailing every day. I rarely get a response but when I do it's like "we have to get approval first" okay got that then "we have to do a file review" wtf!?!? Ok fine did that then "we will call you Friday or Monday....Tuesday the latest" seriously?!?!? I get that things take time but don't leave me hanging like this constantly. I flew my mom up here she has been here for almost 3 weeks now waiting to help me after the surgery. She has to leave the 9th and I am praying I get a date asap so she can atleast be here while I am at the hospital. I am going to start stalker calling this lady if she doesn't call today.
