I suspect this is more about head hunger and not real hunger given you had the sleeve. It is likely not possible for you to actually feel real hunger at this point. If you think you are actually hungry try drinking Water. Many times dehydration gives the same symptoms as hunger
Given this is likely head hunger, means you reall need some help getting your head around this. Have you considered a therapist?

Those cravings have got to be rough. I don't know how much Protein you are eating or how many times a day, but perhaps drinking some fairlife milk between meals or a Protein Bar might help curb the hunger and get you through the day. You also might want to talk with your nutritionist to go over what you are eating and get your diet tweaked.

Every time you cave in for a cheat meal it makes it harder to stay on track the next week.
Before long your intervals between cheat meals will become smaller.
Once you kick the sugary carbs they won't kick back.

Have you spoken with your nutritionist? That calorie count is a bit high for someone 2 mths post-op at your activity level. I'm 14mths and I don't eat 1200 calories a day. You may be eating at maintenance level. It also sounds like you could try and increase your protein a bit. 60 is the bare minimum but I found I lost better if I hit at least 75. I currently eating a 100gms of protein a day or more. I drink 65 - 70 ounces of fluids, and I work out 4 -6 times a week. Until I was 8 mths I ate 800 -900 calories a day. Currently I eat between 1,000 - 1150. I find I lose best when I am at my most active and get in all my fluids. I would recommend calling the NUT and reviewing the food/activity diary with her.

Your eating 1200 calories a day at 2 months post-op? Is the calorie goal from your surgeon/nutritionist?
That seems really high to me-- I am a bypass patient, but at almost 3 months out I can only get in 500-600 calories a day. (65-80g protein)
My sister is a sleeve patient she is 8 months post and she eats 900 calories a day.

You might want to find a few activities you can do at home when bored instead of eating. That is head hunger not true hunger. Also maybe plan some Snacks that are in high Protein. Wheat thins won't help you meet your goals in the long run-- try not to buy them, eh?

9 months and 96 pounds lost. I can hardly believe it. Finally eating healthier and burning 300-900 calories at the gym 3 times a week is actually working and it only took having a little surgery.

You are not required to disclose the nature of your surgery, if you so choose. Plus you are entitled under FMLA for time off to recuperate.
I chose not to disclose anything other than I will be having surgery, and will be taking six weeks. My work is very supportive and I've had no issues.
    Good luck!

    jenn1,
Great question!! It’s so important to appreciate what we have now, post-op, and to remember why we NEVER want to go back to pre-op weight, health, and habits again!
Let’s see…morbid obesity taught me a lot. It taught me that life feels awful when you don’t feel like the true “you” is showing through, like you’re trapped in that fat suit, to be cliché. Like Inner Surfer Girl said, though, it shaped me. I am able to be more understanding of people, whether they have a weight problem or other problems that they may get judged for.
I don’t want to forget the feeling of being ashamed of myself and hoping people would kindly close their eyes to my obvious problems. I don’t want to forget how much worse life was when it revolved around food. I don’t want to forget how out of control I felt in my life.
Losing weight taught me that people treat me differently at different weights. People are more likely to treat me with respect, whether consciously or subconsciously. And I am more confident at a lower weight; even though what I say and think may be the same, it comes out more easily.

My entire weight loss surgery journey has made possible my career. I now get to spend my days doing something I’m absolutely passionate about – helping weight loss surgery patients in one way or another, whether through maintaining the BariatricPal forums, networking with other WLS advocates, or meeting up with surgeons.
