Grr, it's been taking so long for posts to actually post for several days. The result is trying again and then finding duplicates in the topics.

Had .2 cc taken from my band today. So nice to be able to drink w/o discomfort while the band still signals me about solid food.
-
It's amazing what 0.1 to 0.2 cc does to the band.
To be honest, I miss my band. I'd go into details but there are differences that I loved about the band. I walked in with hopes to find another good surgeon who could adjust my band, and walked out with the sleeve lol. It's all good though. Just gotta work the tool to be successful.

Had a mammogram today. Why does it seem that each is more painful than the last? I have a dim memory of ny first and it wasn't at all uncomfortable. On the good side, I saw my new PCP. He's excellent at what he does and his first name is one of my all-time favorite masculine names.

Happy Passover, zissen Pesach, already a day in, but it's never too late.

I've never made matzo balls, but, a thousand years ago, I made gefilte fish, but not for Passover. I did it the old-fashioned way, chopping the fish by hand with my grandmother's chopping blade (now 'mezzaluna') and round-bottomed wooden bowl. Lots and lots and lots of work, but it turned out so well that I made it again about a year later. I used a recipe from an old New York Times column.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I found a great recipe for Turkey-in-a-Blender for those consigned to purées.

Having dinner and going to a dance performance with a friend from the past. We lost touch 35 years ago.

Hear ye! An important NSV that has never been mentioned is not having to spend on shipping charges because local stores have puny selections of plus and big & tall sizes.

Hey, minimize the agony and take up less space. When quoting a post in yours, you can delete from the quote whatever it is that you're not responding to. Save the rest of us lots of scrolling time, eye strain and pointless repetition. You'll be appreciated all the more.

How very cool to read three women's updates, almost in a row, about downhill-rolling clothing sizes.

I had body composition analysis done today for the first time. Yipes, I've got plenty more work to do. It was a surprise, though, to be told that I'd still lose if I were to eat 500 more calories than I do. No way will I up my maximum, but had no idea about the higher number.
-
-
@Sai, in my book I do not have 500 calories leeway, not that I want to use, anyway. My goal for my daily range is 950-1150. On a day when I may lose myself and overeat, it'll be good to know I haven't done damage, I suppose, but I don't want to slip into that. Staying within my range is also a way I know that I can follow through on my choices.

I keep saying that the idiotic psych evaluation should be scrapped in favor of an IQ test. Do the idiot surgery practices ever learn? Nah. And who pays the price? Hint: Neither they nor their patients.

I much prefer the illegal kind.

I voted early this morning and am ready to do it again.
-
I voted the day that my ballot came in the mail. What really upsets me is that I live in Oregon and every presidential election has been decided by the time that my vote would count due to the electoral college. I always feel as though my vote was worthless. I would like to see no political parties and popular vote.

I'm an Advanced Member? All it takes is 30 posts or so? Only a week ago I was a Novice or Brownie or whatever it's called. At what count does the Glue Factory category begin? I want to quit before then.

Then you're younger than I (who isn't?) and/or the mother of a young girl. Here's Google search's blurb from Wikipedia. I had no idea: "Since 2008, Girl Scouts of the USA have had six age levels: Girl Scout Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador. Girl Scouts move or "bridge" to the next level, usually at the end of the school year they reach the age to advance." The "cadette" heading with its feminine ending is dumb.

I'm going to see Neil deGrasse Tyson tonight. Astronomy is super-nova interesting, but the ticket is more about him. ovea

@Sai and @Babbs - don't be jealous. He may very well make his way out your way while promoting the new book. Last night he and his co-authors, J. Richard Gott and Michael Strauss, were so much fun. NDT, always exuberant, did his thing -- cutting off his pals when he just had to say something. If he weren't so bright and all that, it would REALLY be annoying. The others seemed to take it in good spirits. It really was a fun evening and how nice that he's a 'neighbor.' If you do have an op some time to see him in person, it's well.
By the way, C-Span Book TV series will be showing last night's program. They had a sizeable crew on site to tape it.

@Sai, I'll give you fair warning. You'll be safe....@LipstickLady, are you doing what's called splitting splinters? )I just made that up and have no idea what it means.)

I've lost 23 lbs since restarting my band three months ago. I'll take it. This month is my seventh surgery anniversary and I'm working not to be down on myself for having messed up so badly. I'm the one who messed up and I'm the one who will tidy up.

I love you too (but you already know that too hehe) @WLSResources/ClothingExch

In the middle of nearly three weeks of non-stop, RUQ pain, I've seen the gastroenterologist, had blood work and a CT scan of abdomen and pelvis. The blood work indicates inflammation (I coulda told 'em that), but the CT scan was clean. Next is a visit to a cardiologist for clearance for endoscopy on Thursday. Endoscopy should be declared unconstitutional, but it makes more sense than other options (upper GI series, whatever that is).. I'd rather have low level, cheesy men dance for me.

@Dub, where'd you get gallstones? Not in my abdomen you didn't. Did you read the entire post? Nothing familiar?

It's a mere misunderstanding over the "E" misplaced in the middle of J-U-D-G-M-E-N-T. I've never laughed so much over a BP thread. This has to have been a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence.

It's monumentally unhealthy to make a career of a moment that should have slipped into history after a day or so. That is to say that it's unhealthy to make a monument of a piddling incident.

@Sai -- Thank you, thank you. You are a woman of great wisdom and depth.

It's my own craziness that I'll live with, not the craziness of strangers. I don't encourage them to bask in it. As a fan of perspective -- easy to see for someone else, we all know -- I accept that it often goes to waste. May they revel in their battiness. It won't be the worst thing if they keep losing weight.

It's unnecessary to post the same topic in several forums. One will cover you or, if panic reigns, two.

Jazz in my ears and a mirror giving me a good view out the foot of the MRI tunnel made for a not all all bad experience. Two MRI's done simultaneously for a total of 30-35 mins.
