I am anxious and excited. Headed to Vegas on Friday. After 30 years of going there at least twice per year, we have made many friends. I have not seen them nor have they seen me since 10 weeks after surgery. Many don't know and I am somewhat unrecognizable. Looking forward to seeing them, have to decide what I share and what i don't. It will be fun though, it is vegas afterall!

I'll be visiting my mom this week. You know the one that tells me I should lose weight but in the same breath say "Why aren't you eating? Are you sick?" Gotta love her though. ^^

It's monumentally unhealthy to make a career of a moment that should have slipped into history after a day or so. That is to say that it's unhealthy to make a monument of a piddling incident.

@Sai -- Thank you, thank you. You are a woman of great wisdom and depth.

Part of this forum since 2010, now that I'm making an effort to converse, I realize I'm socially inept. I'm the epitome of "the cat's got your tongue." o.O
-
@Sai -- Had any other had the temerity, not to mention dopiness, to say that you are socially inept, I'd challenge the cur to a duel. To what shall I challenge you, my friend?

Where do the blasted fruit flies come from? When I choose my items at the store or farmers' market, I don't see any. Even if they're there (outdoors?), wouldn't they be shooed away when I'm handling the fruits and putting them into bags? How do they get into my kitchen? A day or two after I've placed the tomatoes, sweet peppers, bananas and whatall-else on the counter or table, one or two fruit flies materialize from nowhere. I really hope someone knows how this happens and how to stop it.

@ShelterDog64 -- As long as they stay out of my brain gunk. What was the TV series last year? I didn't get the premise, but the gummint was somehow sneaking some sort of bug life into people's brains to turn them into mindless followers or replacements similar to "Invasion of the Body Snatcher?" At least, the series was something like that.

@ShelterDog64 - While I sometimes see one around the sink, it didn't occur to me that they live in the drain. I wondered why the sink. I also wonder why I never see more than one there or around the fruit. Maybe there's a law on their home planet.

@Caribear -- thanks for that. I didn't know about those two and will start doing them. The creepy buggers.

@High functioning fat man, how many times must I tell you not to stand behind me?

The world is ending for us poor Texans. White stuff is falling from the skies and it's COLD. Brrrr!

Some people just enjoy being negative Nellys. Such a shame.

Antichick, I was told that when it snowed years back in Chesapeake (near Norfolk) Va., people were so unaccustomed that they drove off the roadway and into ditches (no sewer system there at least at the time). It has snowed in Texas, y'know. Alaska? Really? I did major armchair travel there to the point that I had a mail subscription to the Sunday Anchorage paper for a few months. Because of the ad circulars, I mail-ordered moose cookie cutters from one Allen & Petersen (I think that was the name). You're from Alaska, which makes you exotic & a romantic heroine.

I'm hungry.

@heidikat72 -- I like yogurt, but agree with you and Shelter Dog that banana doesn't work there. Maybe Lipstick Lady will throw a scrambled-eggs festival.

@ShelterDog64 -- you warm my heart. When I got older, he showed me how he made them, but it didn't translate exactly to my hands. I can do a mean banana tea bread, though, thanks to Craig Claiborne. It contains no yogurt.

Took a mini break to hang out with vsg instagram fam. I generally like the folks here, but a few get caught up in power plays/ control. We are here to try and support/help one another.

Why if I am only getting in 700-800 Calories and about 83g protein I am still straving?

Happy 9th anniversary to me and my husband today!

@LL, mention of your scrambled eggs makes my heart flutter. When I was little, I'd eat scrambled eggs only if my father made them. His were best (stay calm, he predates you by several decades). By coincidence, yesterday was the 22nd anniversary of his death, so I'm a little nostalgic around the edges.
@OKCPirate, "Pizza Kathy" may be related to Peppermint Patty. And what, I should like to know, is wrong with pizza as long as one is on full solids, chews small bites slowly and doesn't go nuts with it? Never mind that I last had pizza about four years ago and ate only the top. After not having had it in almost as many years, it had completely lost its charm. (@proudgrammy @Babbs)
