    Help!

It gets better. I am 9 days post op and I feel great. Off the pain and nausea meds. Honestly as soon as I stopped taking the pain meds my third day home, I started to feel progress! Good luck, hope you feel better!

Where Are The Single Men Sleevers

Can we bump this thread back up? ????????
  4. I have heard that's one of the qualifications for some insurance, thankfully not mine! -That never made sense to me! If you can lose weight all willy nilly then you wouldn't need the WLS! But the protein shakes and green smoothies as meal replacements worked for me! I didn't lose 40 at most I lost 15 but with my medication it comes right back!
  5. This journey is far from over but I got my surgery date: August 17th! A few weeks ago (6 months into the process) my surgeon Dr. Medvetz quit the practice and I thought I would have to start all over! Thankfully I found a surgeon in the same practice, Dr. Salcone who has great reviews, so easy to talk to, and sensing my frustration he gave me a date rather quickly. My enthusiasm is back and I am sooooo ready, it's been a long time coming; 20+ years in fact!!
  6. Update: Dr. Medvetz left the medical practice right before I was due to get my surgery date so I had to pick another surgeon in the practice. I picked Dr. Salcone who I just met and I really like. He gave me a date: August 17th! I'm nervous but so excited to start living!

    Any August Sleevers?

I just got my date yesterday: August 17th!! It's really happening!!! So excited!
  8. Wow I am so motivated and encouraged by all you guys!! Congrats and continued success!
  9. I am sorry to hear about your setback. Things will come together for you in time. I know how you feel just had a few setbacks myself. I have to see a Vascular surgeron because the ultrasound of my neck because of the mini stroke I had last year and my insurance deny my sleep study but they are willing to do a home study instead plus I jave to get a colonoscopy because I jave low Iron so that dr wants to make sure I am good from head to toe or should I say to ass...lol. Now I have to wait on the pulmonarist to send in the prescription for the home study. You will get there.....just with a patience!!! Thanks Tazi and sorry to hear about your setbacks as well but no worries, I have had several colonoscopies due to IBS and honest to God it's painless and the best sleep you will ever have! Lol Now the prep isn't pleasant but you'll lose weight in the process!
  10. Welcome, I used to live in Cobb County in Marietta! I have no idea about bariatric surgeons in ga but I wish you luck! Im here if you need me but if you want local support search for a georgia thread or start one yourself! I'm learning how common weight loss surgery has become! It's support everywhere!
  11. Ladies I'm so annoyed! I was on the fast track, had two of my last four clearances today! I get in my car to drive to Willingboro (which is 40 minutes away) and my car doesn't start! Had to reschedule both appointments! The cardiologist is rescheduled for next week but the appointment with the nutritionist cannot be rescheduled until 5/19. It's the 2nd of 3 required appointments and they have to be 30 days apart! So my surgery is delayed now! What was likely to happen in June, most likely won't happen until July! Still encouraged and motivated but I wasn't expecting this setback! Glad things are going smoothly for you guys!
  12. Hey Tazi, I'm in Lindenwold NJ also! I started my journey last month and I am halfway through all my clearances (all these copays are killing me). My surgeon Dr. Medvetz is through Our Lady of Lourdes out in Willingboro! Good luck in your journey!
  13. Just started my journey with Dr. Lisa Medvetz also! I'm thinking my surgery will be in June! So far I Love her, she's so kind and confident! I wish you all luck in your journeys!
  14. I'm glad that you have had a positive experience! The doctor had me a little nervous because she was saying how complicated the surgery and of course the more complex the surgery is, the more likely complications could arise! But she's confident, she looked at me and we chatted for a bit and she said I know exactly what I want to do for you! You are young and you have your whole life ahead of you, this is the best option! I trust her, I researched her prior to the meeting! So hopefully in a few months I'll have positive results also!
