  1. My nutritionist seemed knowledgeable enough but was always unavailable. When I had a question about calories it took her 3 weeks to respond. I feel like everything I've learned about nutrition was from my own research and these forums.
  2. I'm jealous! I'm 99% sure I don't need mine anymore because I'm on the lowest possible setting and I seem to wake up burping from all the air, but I'd like to do another sleep study to confirm it. For those of you who have managed to stop using it, how did you do it - slow transition or cold turkey? Despite the fact that it's given me sore on my nose, I don't know how to sleep without it!
  3. @@rowenusmc I'll have to check that out!
  4. @@Alex Brecher @@esskay77 great ideas!!
  5. @@Smye I'll add those ingredients to my grocery list!
  6. @@Smye I haven't heard of that!! I'll have to try and find it. I've really been missing sandwiches.
  7. @@skinnyrita sounds delicious!
  8. @@finediva I totally understand that feeling. Being prepared definitely helps me.
  9. @ I haven't seen those! I'll have to look for them.
  10. @@Inner Surfer Girl I agree that it's not the healthiest option but that's the industry I'm in. Sometimes I definitely do get to sit and focus on eating but I never know which days those will be so I have to always prepare lunch as if I'm not going to be able to sit. @@Ashlegal how do you adapt the recipes back to regular sugar? I use stevia in my tea and it's in some of the pre made foods I eat (Protein powder, etc) but it's been a disaster every time I've tried to cook with it.
  11. @@Sajijoma @@enjoythetime those are good ideas but it's hard to do anything that requires a spoon when running around or driving - at least it's hard for me! @@Ashlegal I'll have to check that out. I had initially looked at her site after surgery but she uses a lot of artificial sugar ingredients which I don't tolerate well so I had stopped checking out her recipes. I'll have to give it another go!
  12. @ Hummus sounds good but is it filling with just crackers?
  13. In my job I don't always get to sit down and eat lunch. For the past nine months I have been mostly eating variations of the same meal - roll ups. Deli meat rolled with cheese, or vegetables, etc with once ounce of some kind of fruit or veg on the side. I'm definitely getting tired of them which is dangerous because the catered lunches my work provides are looking more and more appealing. Does anyone have suggestions for lunches I can eat while running around or in the car? I'm still only eating 4 ounces per meal and I try to keep it closer to the 150 calorie range.
  14. Pork tenderloin with blueberry syrah sauce!
  15. To track the calories of recipes I put the recipe in caloriecounter.com and it spits out the nutritional breakdown and I put it in the jawbone UP app. You can also do the barcode scanner but I don't know if it had as extensive a library as MyFitnessPal.
  16. Oh god! Flying is so much easier!!! No seatbelt extender and I fit in the seat!!
  17. @@kranky813 everyone keeps suggesting the jerky. I really need to try some. I'm a serious carnivore.
  18. @@snickysnack78 @@pink dahlia great ideas!
  19. @@Chrystee haha I've always wanted a stalker! When I went on vacation to the middle of nowhere this summer, I definitely brought a tupperware container full of Protein powder with me. I also brought a 12 pack of Quest bars. haven't tried the power crunch bars is because they're higher in calories and lower in protein than the quest bars. They look really good though! @@OKCPirate looks like a good haul! I've decided on two quest bars and a tuna to go pack. @@Daisee68 that's good to know. I may have to try those!
  20. @@Daisee68 I've been meaning to try Crave. I'm glad to hear it's good! I like dried fruit but I thought it tended to be kind of high in sugar? @@finediva good suggestions! Can you keep chicken and eggs in a bag without refrigeration for that long?
  21. @@Lutasha I'm such a wimp when it comes to spice. Foods that most people find mildly spicy are intensely hot to me. I have a super WASPy mouth.
