Baking with Stevia and Other Sugar Alternatives
@@OutsideMatchInside I wish that was the case for me! Does it taste similar to normal baked goods for you?

Baking with Stevia and Other Sugar Alternatives
@@OutsideMatchInside I hadn't thought of that! That's probably true. So swerve doesn't do anything weird for you? There's no odd aftertaste?

Baking with Stevia and Other Sugar Alternatives
@@OutsideMatchInside no! I don't even notice the Erythritol in the ice cream which is why I was so excited to try Swerve but it literally made my tongue tingle!

Baking with Stevia and Other Sugar Alternatives
@@melyssafaye that's a common misconception. Truvia is actually a blend of stevia, sugar alcohols and other ingredients I can't pronounce. I can't say that it's bad for you but it's produced by Coca Cola which makes me suspicious. Though that may just me being paranoid!

Baking with Stevia and Other Sugar Alternatives
@@Stevehud thanks for the advice. However, I don't mind carbs, especially if they're complex. As an incredibly active person I need a decent amount of carbs.

Baking with Stevia and Other Sugar Alternatives
@@OutsideMatchInside I tried Swerve. It made my mouth tingly. I tried Xylitol but I can't remember the brand. I tried SweetLeaf baking mix. There are a few others whose names I can't remember. I tried making brownies. I tried making cupcakes. I tried making frosting. Some of the recipes are from Chocolate Covered Katie, Amy's Healthy Baking, All Day I Dream of Food, and Desserts with Benefits. It's been awhile so I can't remember the exact recipes but I'm trying to start increasing my protein and it made me want to try again

Baking with Stevia and Other Sugar Alternatives
Has anyone had real success baking with stevia, Xylitol or Erythritol? I enjoy foods that are made with these ingredients but whenever I try to bake with them they come out terrible. I've found all these wonderful looking recipes for protein baked goods but I'm never able to make them turn out well. I can't use Truvia, Splenda or aspartame because that stuff gives me headaches and triples my sugar cravings. Any advice?

Post-Workout Recovery
@@dlappjr are you taking them as a powder or as a pill? I only ask because I read the pills aren't nearly as effective, though I can't say that from actual experience having never taken them.

Post-Workout Recovery
@@dlappjr I'm still trying to get my head around carbs too but from all the research I've done, they really are necessary for recovery. I've slowly been increasing my work out - distance, reps, time, etc - and it's taking longer and longer to recover. I'm adding in some extra carbs to see if that helps. BCAAs are also good. My protein powder has them but I just got an electrolyte replenishing powder that also has BCAAs and glutamine which is also supposed to help.

What do you eat before and after a work out?
I eat Greek yogurt about half an hour to and hour before working out. I get cramps if I do anything heavier. I get light headed if I don't eat at least a small about of carbs beforehand. All the research I've done suggests eating something before working out, usually some kind of carbohydrate like a banana, and some protein.

CPap Machine question
I went from the highest setting to the lowest by about 8 months post op. My pulmonary doc put in a request for a new sleep study multiple times but my medical group loves to deny me for everything so I just stopped using it. Haven't had any problems with it and I sleep great!
