lyndabuon got a reaction from MichelleTN in April bypass buddies.
My doctor wanted me to lose some and wanted me at 340. I am at 355 right now and when I signed consent for surgery he just said to me lose a little more. Not to worry so much because your 2 week pre opt diet, you will lose a lot. I figured my 2 week diet will put me right at 340.

Are you pre op? If pre op, I am following a 1500 calorie diet by nutritionist and I went up and down with my weight for 6 months too. I just sign the consent for surgery this week and should get my surgery date next week. I lost a total of 13 lbs since I started the process in September. I think you will be fine with insurance, they want to see that you are trying. Good luck.

lyndabuon got a reaction from raquel_c in Gastric Sleever's how long did it take UHC to approve your surgery?

I had a Cuisinart and it was okay. Then my food processor went out and while searching for a new one, came across the Ninja 2 in 1 and bought it. I almost immediately got rid of my Cuisinart because while I had previously thought it was okay, after trying the Ninja once I realized that I never knew what I was missing! Love my Ninja.

It's probably not going to be as bad as your imagining. Pain is a short side effect of a beautiful journey!

You are so right about dealing with uncomfortable then being obese. I have been in and out of hospitals for the last 5 years and I am so ready for a new life. I'm down 29 lbs before surgery and just looking forward in being healthy. My heaviest weight was 400 lbs. I will never want to be up there again. When I started this journey in August I was 384 and Right now I am 355.

lyndabuon reacted to Kindle in Can you lose more then 100 lbs with the sleeve?
There's no reason you can't lose as much as you want with any WLS. You can also fail with any WLS. You get out of it as much as you put into it. As for my sleeve experience, I only wanted to lose 88 pounds but I lost 100 instead...and kept it off for 7 months and counting.

I was leaning towards the bypass but the doctor advised right now not to because of my liver disease. He said the sleeve will be the safest right now and down the road if I hit a stAll with losing he will do the bypass. He thinks I will do great with the sleeve and is confident I won't need the bypass. He is worried about the malabsorption. My question can you lose more then 100 lbs? My goal is to lose 150 to 170 lbs. I'm trying to do all the research on sleeve because surgery will be in 4 weeks, I signed the consent for surgery tonight. Please advise. Any information will be great... Thank you.

I just signed my consent for surgery tonight and waiting insurance approval. I'm in New York. Where are you having your surgery and who is the surgeon?

I don't know why not. I am planning to have the sleeve and have considerably more than you do to lose. I have seen many people on bariatricpal who have lost much more than 100 pounds. I have never heard a weight loss limit in any of the literature I've read and my surgeon has never said there was one.

I'm 5 months post op as of this past Sunday. I've lost 108 pounds. So, yes you can. Lol. In fact I lost 5 pounds last week. So, I'm still losing consistently and have absolutely no dought I'll lose my final 30. But, it's not a slam dunk after surgery. I am extremely careful with my diet. I work out 5 days a week. Every week. And, I never ever cheat. So, it's up to you. Good luck!
