    Headache!?!?

I had this issue as well. I was taking in at least 100 Fluid ounces a day and getting in all of my Vitamins, Protein, etc. My surgeon suggested that I up my calorie intake. This was at my 3 month post op appt. I was managing around 600-700 calories. He suggested I increase it to 1,000 calories. I do walk 3.5 miles 3-4 times a week. As increased my calories I did notice that I felt better and the headaches went away for the most part.

    Day one post op

I found hot ginger tea to be a huge help with nausea and reflux. I drink a cup every morning.

    PROTEIN SHAKES?

Remember your tastes change post op. So don't stock up on a ton of protein powder now. I would suggest sampling as any as you can. I was perfectly fine with Choc/vanilla whey pre op. Post op I had to choke it down.

is anybody out there suffering from pcos?

I just met with my OB 2 weeks ago at 3 1/2 months post op. I'm down 65lbs. She said that the PCOS has most likely taken care of itself. As little as 10% excess weight loss can greatly increase your fertility. My cycle regulated itself about 1 month post op. And I just recently had a positive ovulation test! She was very impressed with that. I am actually starting the pill and using confirms as back up until my 1 year in Dec. My husband and I are anxiously awaiting. But I want to hit my goal weight and my surgeon recommends waiting that long. Good luck to all of you! Also keep in mind as you're losing fast excess estrogen is stored in your fat cells. So those extra hormones can cause your body to be out of whack for a bit.
  5. Humana approved my surgery within 24 hours of the clinic submitting the request! Humana called me and told me I was approved. I immediately turned around and called the clinic to schedule my surgery!

    Rash

You can buy liquid Benadryl. I would definitely try that first. But, it never hurts to call and ask!

    Best decision of my life!

Good for you! I too was diagnosed with PCOS. I am 3 1/2 months post op and and down 64lbs. I just met with my OB for an annual. She was ecstatic with my weight loss. I also for the first time in YEARS had a positive ovulation test. My OB said that the PCOS had most likely taken care of itself with the weight loss. I am going on the pill until I'm one year post op to prevent pregnancy. I do not have any children yet. Talking to my OB about trying to conceive this time next year I became emotional. It's SOOO exciting. The possibilities are endless.

2 Days Post Open Severe Nausea

I had a bout with nausea post op. I found Yogi Ginger Tea and it was a lifesaver. The hot tea sat well in my tummy and the ginger was great for nausea and reflux! I hope she can get some relief soon.

    December sleevers

@@sailorgirl I'm glad I'm not the only one still having soreness issues. Not meaning I'm glad you are still sore. It is very annoying/frustrating. I'm so happy with the surgery and weight loss. Just wish I could kick this last bit of soreness to the curb!

    December sleevers

Sleeved 12/22. Down 62lbs since pre op diet started 12/9. I am noticing a lot of shedding hair. I always shed a lot before surgery but I can tell it's getting worse. I got my hair cut shorter and Im thankful I have thick hair to spare. I'm taking Biotin and a prenatal. I always get 60-70g of Protein, 80-100ozs of fluids. I noticed it about the 50lb mark. Hoping it passes quickly! Does any other Dec Sleever still have muscle soreness/healing pain?

Muscle Soreness 3 Mos Post Op

Thank you for the reply. I also have a heated matress pad that I use at night. In addition to a small one I apply during the day. I do stretch as well. It helps. But I'm still sore. The surgeon just said it's healing pain. I feel that it is it's just frustrating that almost 4 months out Im still sore. I also get 60-70g of protein a day and 80-100ozs of water a day.
  12. I was sleeved on 12/22. So I'm about 3 1/2 months post op. I'm really struggling with abdominal muscle soreness. It's around my incisions and abs in general. At my 3 month post op appt my surgeon said some people experience soreness until 5-6 months. He recommended that I stop doing lunges and squats for 4-6 weeks as that engages the core and could be causing the soreness. It's so uncomfortable at night that I can hardly sleep. I get maybe 4-5 hours a night. I'm getting super frustrated. Has anyone else experienced this soreness? Any tips or advice? I was seeing great results in my legs/rear from doing the squats and lunges. I've completely stopped for 2 weeks now and I'm not noticing a difference in the soreness.
  13. I just talked to my surgeon about this at my 3 month pre op appt 2 weeks ago. He said that when women lose a lot of weight they become extremely fertile. And that even if you take it everyday as prescribed some women still get pregnant on the pill. Even though it's 99.9% effective.

    Exercise and drinking water

I'm 3 months post op and I can take pretty decent swigs of water. Yes I use a straw. I haven't actually tried "chugging" water. I'd imagine it might cause discomfort. But nothing extremely serious.

    Itching all over body

It's pretty common to have itching. Invest in a good quality body wash and lotion. You can also use Benadryl and hydrocortisone cream. I also broke out in serious hives the day I got home from the hospital. Had to take Prednisone for a week. It was AWFUL. You can also try adding a fish oil supplement.
