  1. Thank you all! Those answers make sense and I figured it was just my body adjusting..again haha. However you just hear over and over that once your weight stabilizes the hair comes back! Of course you always hear that from the surgeon and nuts who have never actually gone through the process ^__^
  2. So me and my hair stylist noticed I have tons of little hairs sprouting everywhere, which I figured was just regrowth. I'm still about 47lbs from my ultimate goal....Have I just stabilized and won't lose anymore? I still losing weekly...I had surgery in Feb 2015. Any input would be great! I've just always heard the hair comes back when youre done losing...
  3. Have your potassium checked. I had dangerously low potassium and it took forever to figure out what was up. Just standing made me want to pass out! I couldn't work out nearly as long my heart would race etc. Seriously...with as little veggies and other foods as you've probably been eating it could slip. I ate potatoes b.c I had to get mine up and it seriously helped!
  4. dUDE..MINE IS SO WEIRD. it's regular and all, but I shed literal skin, bleed for a day, then shed skin for a couple days. My gyno thinks its fine though....
  5. How long can you expect to steadily lose weight with vsg? I've heard my surgeon say 12months and I've heard him say 18 months. What are your thoughts? Is it dependent on excess weight, or restriction capabilities?

    Hair Loss

I miss my VAST amounts of hair (but not my vast body)... Been losing for 4 months. I don't even shed as much as most but I can absolutely feel and see a difference. I'm very nervous mine will never come back.... is that possible? By possible I mean common.
  7. Mine was also elevated, caught by my PCP. They said to cut back on drinking..and I was like umm..haven't done that in months so..wtf. I just shrugged it off, I have had zero gallbladder issues that I know of. Now I'm nervous and feel like I should have mine checked again...
  8. I have read some threads on this, but they have been pretty old so I started a new one rather than bring up an old one. Anyway, before surgery I used to have EXTREMELY oily face skin. Un godly so...Now it's either dry or normal I can even wear non matte foundations, which I was never able to before. I had to use ULTRA mattifying stuff, and still my foundation would melt off by 4 hours really. Anyway, I forgot to ask my surgeon at my 1month...but could that be hormonal? I wouldn't chock it up to hydration because the rest of my skin got better after i got my liquids in. I'm not complaining, honestly b/c I have more options now. I just found it interesting. Could it be permanent or just a temporary perk?
  9. I had my thyroid checked last monday and it was fine. I am taking the Bariatric Advantage vitamins! I am actually feeling WAYYYYYY better!!! My heart rate still elevates a bit but nothing like it did the first month out of surgery. I was just really worried I developed some chronic condition from the surgical trauma. Where my nervous system go messed up...You know that syndrome called pots? I was afraid I might have gotten that...surgeries can bring it on. As it stands now I am asymptomatic, other than a high pulse at times. But it hasn't been getting over 115. At rest it's totally normal. If it gets over 100 now it's low 100s. So I have faith it will eventually get back to my baseline or even better!!! I can exercise a little longer now too!!!!! Sheesh I was worried!!!
  10. Have any of you experienced lack of stamina? As in you don't have as much stamina as you did pre op? I am sadly having that issue... I was wondering if lack of calories could possibly add to that? My surgeon said most people are doing more at this point but I am doing less I will be 2 months April 10. I had expressed a rapid heart rate before, which I am still struggling with (only on exertion not resting) but that is SLOWLY improving. I had a CMP and I am not dehydrated, however I am SLIGHTLY low on potassium. Not enough for an Rx. Anyway, I was just wondering if this sounds normal at all? My surgeon said he has literally never had a patient who has had a high heart rate upon normal exertion, but said my heart sounds perfectly fine just fast. I don't feel ANY better at all..in fact I feel worse than when I was heavier...at least then I could do more. Is it normal to regret surgery this far out? Thanks! I hope my body and everyone else's acclimates soon!!

    Low heart rate

I had/have the exact opposite problem. I'm almost 2 months post op and my resting pulse is fine, but any exertion sends it over 100. It's really crappy, makes it feel like I've not lost a lb. I hope yours sorts itself out soon!

    calories

Oh wow, I think this is why my body has been freaking out since surgery....I usually get under 300 calories a day and I will sometimes burn off around 100 on a recumbent bike....Usually have consumed under 200 from 7am-5pm. (before dinner) That could be why my heart rate is acting so crazy when I try to do anything!!!!!!!!!
  13. I didn't find anything out honestly. I'm nearly 2 weeks out and still struggle. However, it as gotten MUCH better. It's horrible in the mornings, after dressing my pulse can be 129. Most of t he day upon exertion it stays in low 100s. I cannot work out like I used to AT ALL. I mean AT ALL. My pulse goes in the 90s if i eat too...usually if I accidentally eat too much. I believe that's normal. Had labs done today...praying to god it's a dietary thing, and not like Nervous system related. It all started with surgery...Never had an issue before. Sorry I meant nearly 2 months.
  14. That's the plan but alas it's Sunday.
  15. So I'm about 13 days post op and ever since surgery my pulse goes way up anytime I do anything, aside from sitting. Yes I'm hydrated. Dehydration isn't the issue. My ekg pre op was perfect and my resting heart rate always stayed around 72 pre op. Now it's high 80s, and mid 100s upon walking, standing, daily stuff etc. I'm really nervous that I screwed myself up and developed a health risk post op. I'm staying hydrated and getting 60 grams of protein a day. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this?
