    10 days post op.

I also had surgery on the 29th and today is may first day of "pureed" foods. I still started out the day with my Premier Protein shake (30 g protein, 11 oz fluids) because I have been struggling to get in 60 g/day. I picked up some friendship whipped cottage cheese. It has 15 g of protein in 4 oz. I was able to eat 1/4 cup.

    June 2015 surgery

Hi Jessica, I have some similarities to you and would love to be a weight loss buddy. I am also a mom (of 2) and am 42. I was 245 pounds on the day of surgery after losing 10 pounds on the pre-op liquids. My surgery was on June 29th, and I had a one night stay in the hospital. So far, it has been difficult for me to get in the required Protein and liquids. My discomfort has been manageable, and the only meds I used after I came home were the Reglan, which I stopped after my one week check up yesterday), and Prilosec, which I will continue using as I wake up each day with a heartburn/GERD feeling. Hoping that goes away. Tomorrow is supposed to be my first day of pureed foods, but I am thinking of putting it off for one day, as I am taking my daughter to a concert and am reluctant to change my routine because of that:) I will try to "friend" you or send you a private message, but we will see how it goes since I am pretty new to this forum! E~

    Back home from surgery

Yes...I have the same feeling and I am 3 days out. I think it is the air in the pouch being displaced by the sips of Fluid. I hope it goes away. I had issues with the meds as well. The anti nausea medication makes me nauseous. The liquid pain reliever was disgusting (and luckily I am uncomfortable but not in too much pain). And one medication they said was important to take was given to me in a solid pill form (Reglan- to aid in digestion) and it has to be crushed and put with something to swallow. It tastes like chewing on a Bayer aspirin! Needless to say, at this point I am making fluids my top priority and am sipping as suggested from a 1 oz medicine cup trying to get down 1 oz in 15 minutes. It is very difficult. But I know the effort will pay off, so I know it is important to get through this week without becoming dehydrated.
