About Karen Durrant-Jones

I am on the waiting list and have not seen the nurses, dieticians or surgeon yet.
I had my orientation dec 01st 2014 at st josephs hospital in hamilton ontario and was told it would be about an 8 month wait till the ball got rolling so to speak.

I am about a 38 BMI and have high blood pressure and cholesterol that is normal with drugs, an underactive thyroid controlled with thyroxine and joint pain in various places including knees.

I have been a yo yo dieter all my life from a young teenager and am now 57, tired of fighting the battle only to regain it and more every time.  It gets harder and harder to lose as I get older and i am afraid of heart attack and cancer because of the fat i carry, and of course the stigma of being fat isnt nice andi would like to be able to wear nice clothes and look nicer.

Right now i am worried of two things, one that i will not be approved and two that i have to wait so long and really am at that breaking point of wanting to crash diet but knowing i cant or i lose my chance at surgery.

Also i seem to be gaining weight, by half a pound or so a week even though i am not eating more, or i dont think i am AND i am exercising, walking and swimming.
