Since this thread keeps getting looks I will use it for my 1 year update (that was hit yesterday 2/23/15). I am down 136lbs. and almost to my goal weight. I have a very healthy lifestyle now and work out at least 3-4 days a week. I love my new life and I couldn't gave done it without the tool of gastric sleeve surgery. My only regret is that I didn't do it before.
 

Yeah, I think it is a glitch or something.
I THINK that the setting of the dates is a policy thing of your surgical center.
Here is what happened to me. I was approved for band removal, but I was too chicken to be sleeved. Had the band removal in Sept 2011, and then in I think November found out my insurance was changing and beginning Jan 2012 - sleeve would no longer be an option and I would have to go bypass if I wanted insurance. I got off my butt and pushed for December. Due to vacations etc December had fewer surgeons available, so they put me on the schedule to save my spot (with a BMI about 52 and my history they were pretty confident in getting approval) before I had final approval from the insurance company. I was sleeved Dec 11, 2011 and to this day I thank the insurance company for forcing me to get my rear in gear... and save my life!
anyway, I would talk to your docs office if you have any concerns about it.

I'm going to call my NUT this afternoon and see what she says. But every time I get on the scale it makes this lovely liquid diet taste a lot better!!

It doesn't matter what the scale says, be it 250 pounds or 650 pounds, weight wise everyone on this site is exactly the same. Fat enough to require surgery, and that's the bottom line.

This is an actual text conversation I just had with my husband. We have been together just over 9 years:
Me: if we venture out of the house for anything besides hockey this weekend, i need to buy a new bra Me: the band part of my work bra is just way too loose now and my boobs fall out the bottom Husband: I love you Me: aw Me: what inspired that? Me: certainly not my bra comments! Husband: "the band part of my work bra is just way too loose now and my boobs fall out the bottom" Husband: hehe Me: lol Husband: I'm just happy someone will talk to me about her boobs falling out of something. Me: that's all you needed in life? Husband: I'm all set now. Me: i'm glad i can provide that for you

Something else I've noticed when I've been out shopping, are the folks buying Protein shakes, and mushy stuff. I think in my head....."that person has had wls!" And then I'm jealous because I haven't yet. I'll be at Sams Club with the hubs and observe what is in other people's baskets (Water bottles, Fage 0 calorie yogurt in bulk, egg beaters, apple sauce, sugar free popsicles and premier protein) and whisper to him...."I bet that person had wls....look how healthy he/she looks!" I don't know if they did or didn't, but I think it whenever I see something like that.

As I approach the 4 month anniversary of my revision, I must say I have NO REGRETS!!! I am so glad I went through the process. I had my band removed and sleeved in one surgery Sept 18, 2014. So far my eating is wonderful and I am loving my sleeve. No stuck foods, no spitting up and when I am full, I am just full. There is no reason to over eat with sleeve, you just have to maintain and eat healthy stay away from junk. Are there temptations...of course because I am a cocktail LOVER LOL! I do have my cocktails but like my foods, I have it in moderation and don't over do it. I feel my body transforming and I so love that feeling of seeing a better looking, none tired, more healthier ME!
To compare the band and the sleeve, there is no comparison. The band I had back in 2006 was not the band for me and I am VERY satisfied with my sleeve. If you are thinking about the sleeve, know that it is the best decision you will give to your health

It is most likely because I have developed thick skin from being fat all my life, but I really do not care what people say to me. I don't get easily offended. I don't go on the defense. If anything I'll make a joke and move on. My favorite line right now is, "it sucks that a person can lose 180 pounds and still be this fat!" I have found that in most cases people are not trying to offend, so why take offense? I have enough important stuff in my life to worry about without adding peoples comments in to the mix.

Oooh and i won't miss having to put deodorant under my boobs so they don't get gross!!! Lol. Sorry guys
