IvyLeagueNP got a reaction from alwaysvegas in Please help me with this 6 mo agonizing wait!
I'm right there with you... On month 3 of 6 and I just want to be post op already. The WLS center that I'm going to focuses on starting the behaviors you'll need to follow post-op during the 6 months.
This includes making sure your Protein intake is adequate (at least 60 grams). Eat Protein first. Then veggies if still hungry then healthy carbs.
    Measure everything!
    Track everything (myfitnesspal)
Another big one- Water consumption. At least 64 oz daily. Start following the rule of no drinking 15 min before, during and 30 mins after a meal.
    Cut out carbonated beverages.
Exercise. Start doing 10-15 mins 3 days a week and work up to 40-45 mins at least 4 days a week.

Not sure if you did this before surgery or not. But I remember those meetings where I was eating large portions and having a cookie (and chips) later and I would always look at the skinny girl in the room who ate the healthy salad and maybe some fruit for a snack and was so jealous that she had self control that I didn't have. YOU are that girl. I bet you someone in that meeting wished they had your resolve. Not sure if that's any consolation.
Good post, I'm still working through my food demons and it's a little scary to know that it never gets "easy". I should have known better. It isn't that easy now. The other day one of my friends said, "Don't take this the wrong way but I'm surprised how hard you still have to work to lose weight." Thank you! It sure is.

I am having one of those days today. I am so irritated that I can't eat a normal meal. (only small). I can't swallow shit. (liquid is easy). It sucks to cook for my boyfriend to make sure he eats because he still has a stomach. And as I prepare things, I say, why I can't I have a little bit of this and that? You know what really did it? I was preparing him a salad and putting croutons. I said, one crouton won't hurt. Well, I sit here regretting the stinking crouton because it feels like it is stuck. God knows I chewed that sucker until it was nothing, but still.
I am just having a bad day I guess.

PreOp, i thought I would have all types of problems after reading some of the posts on this site: (regrets, passing out, nausea, spasms, leaks, strictures, food addiction issues, etc..). To the point that I was scared to chew ice cubes after surgery! PostOp I've had none of those issues. So please don't think everyone struggles. We are all so different (body, mind, & spirit), that our WLS surgery journeys are very different as well.

I kinda regret it as well. I deal with food addiction and overeating. There's no joy in eating anymore. I eat for fuel. I hate it. And yet at the same time, I'm elated by the weight I've lost. It's a mindfuck.

I've now reached 110 pounds lost! That is more than my sister weighs haha I go around saying "I lost a Sammy" lmao And my mom keeps saying "Half-a-Hana" lol The feeling is incredible. I'm buying size 10 outfits, medium dresses... I'm working out and running a lot and just generally enjoying life so much more than before.

This past weekend I went up to NY for a family wedding. I hadn't seen a number of these people in a long, long time and the response was overwhelming. Some people cried, they were so happy for me and my success and my good health. I felt and looked incredible. It was just an incredible weekend. Below are a couple of before photos and the last photo is a small collage from the wedding!

Hey all!! I wanted to share my update B&A pic, Halloween edition! I chose my outfit last year during the Preop phase. My surgeon, Dr. Ariel Ortiz, completely inspired my choice. He reminded me of Batman- intriguing, handsome, mysterious (even though after I met him he was still handsome but a total ball of energy- so cool). I thought of the operating room as the Batcave where he would whip me into shape with all his fancy gadgets and weaponry. So I decided last September I wanted to be Poison Ivy! A year in the making, I am so thankful and blessed
