  1. Surgery on 3/2 and back to work today (3/9). I brought a premier protein, water flavor drops and bone broth with me. I think I can start purées today but I didn't want to try them for the first time at work. I have apple sauce and greek yogurt tubes (2oz tubes) as well as some baby food bananas at home in the fridge. I may hold off on that though and stick to liquids till next Monday. I have a big leak fear.
  2. Good luck to you as well!
  3. Any updates? What happened?
  4. I'm on Pepcid for 3 months for the same reason.
  5. i burp when i drink too much in a swallow. i can feel it coming up. i also get this gurgling at the middle of my stomach too - i'm wondering if that is the Water traveling to the intestines.
  6. desk job. surgery on monday and going back to work on monday, so i took off a week.
  7. I'm 6 days out and got backed up 2 days before the surgery. First poop post surgery was horrible - needed an enema. Since then I have been drinking Water non stop to help. Have you guys tried squatting? Like feet flat on the floor squatting? It's really helped me with the pain.
  8. i don't have a scale because i'm afraid of being demotivated by a stall. i would be weighing myself non-stop, i feel. my NUT did tell me about a stall in/around week 3 and that it was normal - but i'm going to rely on visits with her to get weight updates. i think you are doing great! try not to stress the stall and perhaps consider not weighing if you feel like it's stressing you and you KNOW you are doing the right thing.
  9. i was given the clear for Protein in week 1. i couldn't get any in in the first few days, but in day 3/4 i have been able to get in at least 1 shake a day.
  10. Tomorrow will be a week out. Interesting thing right now is what to do with meal time - the fam eats without me now, because i'm still on liquids, but even when i am on food, i'm going to be done at the table before most even really get into it. it's weird how much of life is centered around food. i'm trying now to find other things to do besides food! i remember when my friend first started AA and it was like "what do i find to do besides drinking?" and i'm having a similar struggle around eating right now. Breakfast? a lovely meal of Vitamins and a Water chaser. lol
  11. two hospital gowns - one in the front and one in the back.
  12. You are having a first class adventure!
  13. Have you tried the Gas-X strips? That helps for my in stomach gas like when I'm burping but I think only walking helps the gas they pump in during the surgery. The pain from that is about 7 days I'm hearing.
  14. I had to put the little patch behind my ear the night before and then take a pill two hours before to control/prevent nausea, so i wound up not having any at all. they will def give you something for the anxiety! trust me! especially if your blood pressure shoots up and you mention it to the anesthesiologist at all... i've never been more drugged in my life.
  15. which pain meds did you get? I got tylenol 3 liquid, so it has codine. it was making me have weird vivid dreams though! boo about the weather! winter is tough this year! but it sounds like you are trucking and doing what you need to do!
  16. i had my surgery on Monday. it's still there but i'm not taking any pain meds for it. doing plenty of walking and such - i guess i just have to wait.
  17. i know it's stressful to wait. try to stay positive and call them back next week.
  18. How long have you been waiting? I would give it few days given the weather issues here in North Texas. You could also call and leave a VM with the EGD scheduler - they usually call back within 24 hours.
  19. i listed him in the surgeon section to the left of my post.
  20. I had a headache on Day 3. Drinking Protein helped it go away quickly.
  21. had surgery on Monday and am feeling great! off the tylenol 3 syrup for two full days now.
  22. i paid $4500 plus prescriptions.
