I'm signed up for no bread, no rice, Pasta or soda for life with my doc too.
Was coached that you were never to go back to what people now consider "normal" eating. Never how we used to eat, that a large variety of foods would need to be eliminated for success and optimal health.
That actually helps me and it makes me strong. I know if I allow those foods to creep back in, then I'll slowly increase and I can stretch my stomach with the old habits/cravings.
Seeing everyone's thoughts, struggles, encouraging words etc gives lots to think about.

I push my fitness pall all the time.
Not only can you log everything you take, but you can set as many reminders to pop up as you want,
    Might help

I was getting around well without much abdominal pain in week but still had to be careful with the lower left. You're walking well, but not doing a lot. This is an invasive draining surgery on your body which is why many doctors suggest at least 2 weeks preferably 3 weeks before even returning to work.
As for eating, that takes time! At 4 weeks I'm adding solids but it's slowly and I haven't gotten sick, but I've been close and I've learned you have to progress slowly.
I feel great and have actually felt pretty great from the beginning. However, you're overnight taking away everything but liquids/protein ( and in moderation ) from your body after a surgery, so you'll be tired and you can't be sure exactly how you'll react.
That being said it has been easier that I expected. But, I have followed every rule/instruction!! I have gotten in my Water, my Protein and my Vitamins from day one.

This is why this support can be so great. I feel better right now just hearing someone else say that's how I feel too and others as well. This is s big deal! We've done a major thing physically and mentally that we hope we let change the rest of our life! I know I need to relax, but s little fear, will keep us mindful. You don't get big enough to have this surgery without having problems with food so of course we scared. I'm so glad I said it out loud earlier because you guys validated my feelings one, but two, pointed out that it needs to be controlled, not obsessed over.
I appreciate the time you spend sharing

Agree with everything you said and one of the things I didn't mention I couldn't eat was potatoes, cake ...
Rice, bread and a few other things was more because of in many people it causes problems long term. And because of some of those foods that swell and can lead to more stretching. So my doctor as well teaches moderation (although there are definitely some things she said to never touch again, soda) and says that one day I'll feel like I can eat just about anything I want in small portion, but just to be aware of the ones that are more prone to trigger changes that may lead to weight gain.
I think we're saying the same thing and should be proud we're being diligent enough to listen and learn from the experts as well as our own bodies

I'm getting up to around 650-700 because I keep my Protein so high.
Sliders. That is confusing to me because how do you eat the puréed and soft food stage if you can't have things like mashed potatoes, steamed mashed vegetables, blended Beans, cottage cheese, those types of things. Wouldn't that all be considered sliders or do I have it wrong? Doctors, nuts and diets are so different!
I was told to add tuna and other soft blended solids 4-6 weeks. Is that being overly conservative compared to others?

Very good advice that all should heed! Glad you're ok and sorry for the experience.
I have a difficult time here too, and now take something every morning and evening and it has pushed me to workout more because only since I've started moving more has it gotten better.

    How are you doing?
    Feeling?

Would love to hear a little about some of the phases your going through over the first 4-5 weeks.
I'm 19 days and doing well although today a little emotional for the first time because of spasms.

Daily routine still a moving target, this is a huge change and it takes planning!!
Use myfitnesspal because you can record Protein etc to keep on track
I have kids although their teens and that makes it hard because food everywhere and hey cook, buy and have it everywhere, I bring them places etc. you don't have the control you can have on a 3 year old.
But, mental preparedness is most important. You're body does not allow cheating! Physically no room and causes discomfort/pain. Being proud of change because you cut back won't matter, you could make yourself sick, that's the issue. For a while things are eliminated period.
    You can do it!!! ????

Have you tried the muscle milk knockout chocolate pro series 32 G Protein shake. It's pretty thick, chocolate and I think tastes good.
$7.98 at Walmart for 4 of them.
They're helping me a lot right now at 12 days post op

    Hi everyone,
thanks for all the well wishes/messages Wednesday am, it was so awesome to pick up my phone and see over a dozen sleevers reaching out. I am only just responding because although its been a great few days in some ways, I've also had a few not so great things.
First the positive. Surgery done, a success and I am so excited and pumped that I got it done!!! Through the pain the minor complications etc, I am smiling big loving every minute of it.
As for complication, I ended up having a hiatal hernia that they fixed of course, but it has caused severe spasms beneath my sternum area/esophagus that then radiates into other areas. That increased my meds and has made taking in fluids a little more difficult, but it will pass soon and who cares, I finally have my sleeve!!!
I will be going home in about 5 hours and am excited about it.
