Oh well Dr Voellinger has his patients go on a 2 week liquid diet before the surgery. It wasn't bad for me because I was so ready for the band. The reason why he had us do this is because you lose weight first around your liver. They have to move your liver to do the surgery so it makes it easier for them if you do this. Hi I'm a 9/05er but I thought I's pop in here anyway! This band life isn't easy. Someone asked me last week about the head part! I laughed and said that I honestly felt that that will be an on and off thing for the rest of my life. Getting our heads right is the tough part and I think that this far out it is harder. It isn't easy to lose weight but it is harder to keep it off!

Mom X we are here to help you! Your not alone and you don't need to feel embarrased on here. We all go through our ups and downs. If you can cut out those drinks I am sure that will help you with the weight loss. Those calories are not worth it. You can do this. I can tell you what I've done, but I am not a perfect bandster at all. However I have always stuck to the rules. Let me know what you need I don't want to lecture you just help you. Hang in there!

HI, I had to get unfilled 2 weeks ago because of reactions from a bunch of stuff. Being unfilled $usks It isn't that horrible but I can eat more than before thats for sure. Hi I've had a really tought time. Thats why I've been MIA for so long. I have my second leg surgery done and the got DVT and put back into the hosp. Had been throwing up a lot and had to get a complete unfill! Now there is something going on with my thyroid. Besides that everything is wonderful. There is a huge band conference coming up in Charlotte the first weekend in May. People are coming in from all over the place. If I'm not back soon it's just because I am so tired after work that I can't do it, it's not cause I don't care about our Jersey crew!

But it is going to be wonderful. Even if your just thinking about getting the band or if you've had it for a while. It will be worth it. I had a hard time with my leg surgery and landed up getting DVT and was back in the hospital. During that time they found something going on with my thyroid. So now I'm going for tests on that. It hasn't been fun, but it's all going to be fine. My legs look great and they are feeling better. My DVT is taken care of now so all is good. Have a good night. Hi gang, I had my leg surgery on Friday has a hard time with everything send the night and the whole next day in the hopsital. I am have icjing and a rash by the insisiouns i can't spell im to tired sorry. anyway soem of you remember that I had a terrlb;e reaction to my second band surgery a rash and itching well please pray for me cause I'm having some of that now. Haven't slept all nigt can't spell right now eitjer ok sleep time

Hey Betty sorry about your Uncle. I lost mine 2 weeks ago. Didn't someone else loss there Uncle around the same time? Went to the nutritionist yesterday she told me some really helpful things. Sorry no personals today work is busy and I have a bunch of people to help.

Where are you all? Whats been going on? How many boob jobs? How many tummy tucks? How many at goal? How many gaining? How many happy? How many frustrated? How many foaming? How many slimming?

Candle, You've done so well. Don't you want to share your positive feedback to help others? I totally agree with you about the job thing.

I have a friend who is taking a marketing class and she asked me if I could give her some feed back on referrals. How many people have you referred to the lap-band? How many people have actually had the surgery? It doesn't have to be exact just a round about #. I can't tell you how many I have referred, lots, but I can tell you that at least 2 have had the band due to my referrals. Thanks for your help! I thought this would be fun.

Sheila, I have been so busy at work I haven't had time to check in here. The weekly support group looks like it may start in March. I have to have my other leg surgery on February 15th. I have really bad vericose veins and had my first surgery done now I have to have the other leg done. Doc said that I broke the record for insisoins! He did 49! He said this leg won't be as bad, even though it looks worse! Urgh. I will keep you posted. This Saturday guys, I hope some of you come. We had a lot last week. I wouldn't mind going out to lunch afterwards if anyone is up to it.

Hi Clementine, NewHopeBariatrics and Dr Voellinger is the only outpatient center in Charlotte. No other surgeon in the area does it in an outpatient facility. The cost is 15.9 you can click on the top of this screen and it will bring you to the website and me if you click the click to call button. I can not say enough wonderful things about Dr Voellinger or NewHope Bariatrics. I started working for NewHope in July never knowing that someday Dr Voellinger would be involved with us. You can not go bad with the combination, that I can promise you! Welcome Jeannine! How is your pre op stuff going? It is an exciting and scary time, but so worth it. This saturday is the Charlotte support group. We meet at Dr Voellingers office, however many people come from all differen't surgeons. the address is 2300 Randolph Rd Charlotte. PM me if you need more info. Back to work. I love my job I get to talk to people all over the US considering the lap-band!

WowEEE you look great! when do the tubes go away? Thanks for the kind words about my uncle. It was good to go home for a quick visit, but it's so nice to be back in my own element! OK I have a confession...I have been eating like an idiot for the past month and a half and it caught up to me. So I went in for a fill on Tuesday and came out with a slight unfill! WTF I love my Dr, her really is wonderful. Anyway because of all my PBing and sometimes throwing up he wanted to give me a slight unfil send me back to my therapist and to the nutritionist and then go under fluro in 2 weeks and start to fill up again. My attitude is well I did great at 1.6 before I can do good at it again! Kat I also went to Curves on Monday! My first time in months! It did feel good. I am going to try to go tomorrow after work if I can if not Saturday morning. I do roll out of bed and on most mornings get on my sationary bike for a bit I try to do 30-40 minutes 4-7 miles, but even if I just get in 2 miles I'm happy. I am waiting to hear back from my vascular surgeons office with the date of my next leg surgery. URGH I really don't want to do it, but I know I need to! Got to get back to work. Diane what info was I suposed to give you I forget, sorry.....

Hi guys, Welcome Chell, I'm from NJ Bergen and Hunterdon county, but then I moved to NC, but once a Jersey Girl ALWAYS a JERSEY GIRL! I had to fly to NJ on Thursday for a funeral. My Great Uncle died. He was 88. My grandmother is 99 and doing wonderful. It is sad that her baby brother is now gone. Service and funeral was in Brooklyn Thursady and Friday. Flew home Saturday. The really hard thing for all of us is that my aunt and uncle were going to have a big party next month, I had already brought my ticket to fly up. They were celebrating there 60th wedding anniversary.:tongue: I'm going for a fill tomorrow. I have gained :eek: but I love the band cause I know I can stop!!! Diane and Pat you both have no excuses not to come to the big 2008 bash in Charlotte NC! Everyone is invited of course! I will get out more details as I get them. It will be the last weekend in April. OK back to work I'll check in later.

Well I guess it could be a lot worse. I haven't been on the scale since the end of Sept and tomorrow I'm going in for a fill, I've gained 10 pounds. Are you ready for my excuses! I had vein surgery end of November so I couldn't exercise. Christmas was here and so were the sweets. Life has been really stressful! I know...I know..I know... So tomorrow is my fill. Do you know what I love the most about the band? I know that even though I gained this weight, I would have been a lot more without the band, and the bast part is that I can get my little tweek tomorrow and be back on track in no time. So I am not going to beat myself up (to much) for the weight gain, and I'm going to get back on track cause unlike before I know I can!!!
