    Rant ????????????

All of this happened prior to my doctor entering the room ( she reviewed my chart, weight, blood work ) after I put her in her place she didn't have anything else to say. I love my doctor and she is super supportive of this decision and was so proud that I've lost 8 pounds by making these life style changes to prepare for surgery. I just feel bad for whatever obese/overweight person finds themselves in the hands of that student!!!!! I did make a complaint with the front office and said I never want another student to sit in on my visit again! I don't expect everyone ( especially ppl who have never walked a day in our shoes) to understand this process but I be damned if I will stand for rude disrespectful comments!!! Thanks guys/gals for all the support and comments!

    2nd Appointment scheduled.....Finally!

Congrats on your approval!!! I will be following this post to keep track of all the questions ppl suggest. Good luck on your impending surgery
  7. So today I went to month two of my sixth month physican required visit. The MA asked if I would also allow my DR. to bring in a student .... I said sure no problem. Well lil miss student comes in before my Dr. Goes over my chart and sees since my first visit ( last month) I have lost 8 pounds. She asks what I'm doing/ what changes have I made. I give her my list Cut out soda Cut out breads, rice, sweets, potatos Increased Water intake Walking for an hr 2-3 times a week Eating Protein first Eating slower More so than any one change I have had an epiphany and I'm ready to face all of my challenges with weight head on. I will be having bariactric surgery and I really want to use these six month to start making the changes to be successful. Automatically her face changes and she gives me the most snooty look and says " are you sure you really want to do that?" Like " have you researched it???" .... " right now you are doing it the " right" way" . She then follows with " you may think that wls is appealing but the long term effects are horrible" I then tell her of course I researched it I would not remove a portion of an organ from my body and not know the risk/ or complications of doing so. As far as the long term effects, the long term effects of being morbidly obese are far greater . And there is no right way to lose weight. I have 136 pounds to lose that's more than what you probably weigh. There is nothing " appealing" about coming to the realization that you are in a constant battle with food/diets/scale and Im making changes in my lifestyle and with this surgery to face these challenges head on. Lil miss snooty face had nothing to say after that and sat in the corner of the room and observed when dr entered and conducted the rest of the visit. One down and I am sure many more to go.... I'm prepared and excited about this journey!!!!!

    Anyone from the AZ?

@@StephanieM thanks for the offer I will keep you posted so was he trying to push back your surgery date due to not being contracted? He told me he had privileges at st lukes. Makes me really wonder. Thank The Lord I'm early enough in the process I can switch without it being a hassle.

    Anyone from the AZ?

@@StephanieM thank you so much for the update. I had my initial consult on 1/28 and that was one of the questions I asked. " what hospital are you affiliated with" he stated that he used to work with paradise valley but was not happy with their patient care and was now working with st lukes. He did not mention that he was not contracted with them ( I'm not one for half truths) I kinda feel like he should have stated that. I'm currently in my second month of my supervised diet so if something doesn't change by the end of month 3 I will have to look for a new dr. I think it is very important to make sure whomever I am working with is organized and also someone I can trust.

    Last 6 month supervised

I see a losers bench in your future????????????????
  11. Currently approaching my 2nd month of my supervised diet with PCP. My insurance bcbs sc requires me to have 6 months. My surgeons office said I'm not required to lose a certain amount ,I just can't weigh more at my last appt then I did at the first. Stick in there! It's tough when you have these hurdles to jump through but it also gives you time to research and start making the life style changes you will need to be successful in the long haul.
