  1. I started in a very tight 18 or proper fitting 20 in pants (or a bursting at the seams XL yoga pant) and a 3x in tops. I am now 7 1/2 weeks out and have lost 24" total from my tummy, bust, hips, arms & calves. Today I wore a L yoga pant and an XL American Eagle shirt!! In fitted pants I am into 14's.
  2. I was sitting in an Atlantic city Hotel room yesterday when my husband came out of the bathroom and said "do you have any idea how great you look and do you realize you are sitting there with your legs crossed?" WOW it was a good day!!!
  3. 40 pounds and 8 weeks has already truly changed my life! I feel like it is a miracle that I never REALLY thought would happen!! I have a way to go still but I am already living the life I could only dream of for so many years!! sniffle sniffle This was taken yesterday while we walked 5 miles in Atlantic City!!
  4. My surgeon is/was excellent and I had every confidence in him. That's about where it ends. Most pronounced are the two NUTS in his office, just wack-a-doos, All of my time with them has been...interesting. My two nutrition classes were dominated by PATIENTS who wanted to discuss when they could drink alcohol again, and all sorts of other ridiculous crap that was just a waste of time. I will certainly see MY surgeon in the future when/if I have any questions or concerns, but after my 8 week check I am pretty much done with the rest.
  5. Feel better asap, fingers crossed for you that all goes well. Hopefully you are feeling lots better tomorrow and can proceed. Even if you are still a little under the weather on Wed they may not postpone you, thinking that you should be fine by Monday.
  6. What you described doesn't seem like a lot of food to me!! I am only 6+ weeks out and I can eat 2-3 ounces of chicken with some gravy. Why do you feel bad about these amounts? Is it that you aren't losing anymore or are gaining?
  7. My surgeon required a one week diet for bmi under 45 and a 2 week diet for bmi over 45. But it wasn't a full liquid diet, we could have applesauce, grits, oatmeal, 3 ounces of chicken, veg, etc
  8. I had a Ritas kiddie size sugar free Water ice the other night. I had them put a "dot" of custard on top, half of which I gave to my husband because I still thought it was too much. About 2 hours later O.M.G.!! It passed pretty quickly but it was HORRIBLE. Wont be doing that again any time soon!!
  9. I started one week after surgery. the first thing I had was about an ounce of pureed chix, Beans & potato with a dot of applesauce. Then yogurts, hummus, cottage cheese, ricotta bake, etc
  10. I could eat 1/3 to 1/2 of a Greek Light & fit which has just a little over 5 ounces in the whole container.
  11. I still have a VERY long way to go but I have lost 33 lbs in 6 weeks and also got a haircut. I am just so thrilled already.
  12. My surgeon required two nights, He puts a drain in and doesn't remove it until day three, right before discharge. But for the drain I would have begged to go home after one night, I knew there was no point in asking
  13. I am really sorry that your friend reacted that way to you, clearly its because she loves you but she is not very informed and thinks that she is. I had someone in my family that I am very CLOSE too and there was no way around telling her. I made it much harder for her to criticize by opening with "we are so close and I am only telling you about this because I KNOW I will have your support" She still gave me a bit of a hard time in roundabout ways. However, I think it eased what I would have had to endure if I had just told her without saying I KNOW you will support me.
  14. You are a beautiful inspiration!
  15. I still have a LOOOONG way to go but im thrilled with the difference 33lbs and a haircut makes. I'm a happy girl
  16. I am only about 5 1/2 weeks out and my tummy already feels pretty "normal" just TINY. You will be able to eat again, just not anything like the amounts we were once used to (but you will NOT want to). I am down almost 35lb already, HUGE reward, no regrets. Best of luck to you!!
  17. Hiiii! brannondlb@aol.com
  18. I was out for 8 days and then only did a shortened schedule for the first week back. Very little pain, was mostly just tired more than normal.
  19. Stay the course and the scale will move. Eat what you are supposed to and try increasing your activity. I have had 2 times already where I gained a pound but it resolves within a day or two. In my case, I think it is just fluid fluctuations.
  20. I LOVE all the unjury flavors, but I find them too sweet at full strength. SO I use half a scoop of the flavor and half a scoop of the UNFLAVORED per 8 ounce shake. This early on you are probably better off making a 4 ounce shake and you can use 1/4 scoop flavored and 3/4 scoop unflavored. Have just two of these per day (make w organic skim milk) and you are already at 50-58g of Protein for the day. Also the unjury chicken soup is very good and delivers 20g of protein with a nice bonus, the 8 ounces of Water used to make it counts toward your fluids for the day!! You can do it .
  21. I would skip the pastina unless you were specifically told you could have it. I know its teeny tiny but it IS still Pasta. At 7 days I was allowed hummus and purees, applesauce, yogurt, cream Soups, scrambled egg, mashed up tuna or other soft fish, cottage cheese, etc. No Bread or pasta until at least 8 weeks out according to my protocol. No rice for even longer. I doubt I will eat much pasta, bread or rice EVER, but I have had a cracker or pretzel stick now at 5 weeks out, and I may have a little high Protein wheat toast on occasion when I am 8 weeks out. Congrats & best of luck to you!
  22. I dry heaved for almost 2 days after surgery, its a combo of the anesthesia, pain meds and the trauma your tummy just endured. Once home I could smell everything so strongly, even things my husband ate just REEKED on his breath. This issue passed very quickly for me and I feel totally back to normal as far as things like that go. It is scary because we can never really know what to expect, but I can tell you that I am only 5 weeks out and I wouldn't change anything so far. It is a price to pay for sure, BUT the reward is great Congrats & best of luck to you!
