  3. You are so welcome. Too bad you are in NH. Iam a very good listener and a great believer in everyday accomplishments whether mental or physical ( the latter not so much...........lol) I had GBS in 2006. Higher weight 311 lowest 187. In stating so, current weight bounces from 230 - 235 I seem to be stuck, but just can't be at peace with this weight gain. However my scale says "just live with this and move on" ! So hard headed! (and italian to boot!) Such is life. Love this site and just so happy for some that have made their goal above and beyond. Encouragement abounds!! Keep the posts coming! Thanks, Sharowna
  4. Kudos to you Winklie! Iam sure you would make a great mentor for those of us that are struggling to hit our WL goals. Thanks for all the information!

    POOP!

Hello! Iam 12yrs post op gastric bypass surgery at 58yrs young! My advice to avoid bowel problems is to stay away from sugar, sweet dairy products and fried foods!! Drink plenty of Water or green tea, hot or cold throughout the day. Make sure you eat enough proteinto a least equal 60 grams daily and eat at least 3 quality meals daily. Try to eat something within 1 hr. after getting up in the AM. I 've always had problematic anemia, so I try to eat a good rounded diet. I know if I follow this advise I share with you,I would not struggle with the dreaded dumping syndrome or live my life now around bowel issues which I pretty much create and struggle with weekly,Choosing to eat good foods post BS gastric bypass surgery Is very important for bowel health! My bowel problem is ............. I belive that my colon never emptys fully. However it is not diarrhea but not solid either. I deal with seepage quite often. soif you feel you have to go, go as soon as you feel it. If any one has any different advise on this, please reply Hope all is well with you and your journey simplifies life with healthy healing! I also state, I use Miralax to no avail. lol Be strong and stay wise!!!! pre op GBS weight 311lbs today at 235 and bounce that 5lb loss/gain monthly. But I consider myself lucky to have not gained anymore.I am consciencely aware it could happen too easily, so that helps! xxoo

  14. dumping syndrome happens with eating anything too fast, eating sugar, dairy, (except cheese)and eating too much at once or too often. Like I stated, I'am 12yrs out and just recently I haven't had issues with dumping because of changing my diet. Fruit smoothies sweetened with splenda or truvia is best for mornings. Snack before lunch if craving, I either I eat a celery stalk w/1Tbl of PB or frozen grapes. When I need to eat lunch, I know I need a source of Protein, such as an egg scrambled w/melted cheese and a slice of whole grain toasted bread spread with another TBL PB. Now my PB is done today also because of calorie consumtion. Then generally I do not get hungry again till dinner before 6pm This is where I get my veggies, any realistic amount, and protein, from meat and a small amout of carbs such as pots and noodles or rice. I had to be very strickt on changing my diet because of regain weight of 40lbs. Scary for me. I hope this helps some! Stay Happy, Healthy, and Safe! Sharowna
