Well it's 16 months since my surgery and I feel amazing!!! I couldn't be happier with the way I look and feel about myself (apart from the few wrinkles that have started to appear around my eyes ha ha).
I wasn't a fat child or a fat teenager, my problems started when I left school as I stopped doing all the normal school sports and then learning to drive didn't help as had done a lot of walking to get me from A to B.
Aged 20 I had my first daughter and put on 70lbs during pregnancy and then before I had chance to loose the baby weight, I was pregnant again.
That was that, my life and my weight was never the same again. I did all the usual diets over the years and took slimming pills but, the same old story that everyone tells, stop doing the diet and the weight piles back on.
Then in July 2013, I was walking around Harrods in London looking at all the fantastic clothes not thinking I wish I could afford these clothes but I wish I could fit into these clothes!! So there and then something just clicked in my brain and I decided to do something about it.
I went home that day, did some internet research, thinking that I wanted a gastric band, found Mr Jenkinson and booked an appointment. I saw him the following Friday, we talked at length about the different types of surgery and the pros and cons. We both thought that the sleeve op would suit me best and the very next Tuesday I was in having my op.
As it turns out it was the best decision of my life.
