I've shopped at Mens Big & Tall and Destination XL for over 10 years. I'm 3 weeks post op and can't wait to shop at a " regular" clothing store. I like the idea of purchasing something nice in advance. Can't wait to be able to fly in a plane w 1 seat.
I can relate. My last meal I went with my siblings and thought it was like " the last supper". Enjoy your dinner tonight. I am 3 weeks since surgery and glad I may the decision. The 2 weeks will go by fast.
My bet is you can and will loose the weight. I had to loose 30 lbs. instead of thinking about 30 lbs, I concentrated on loosing 3 lbs a week. I cut out all carbs and sugars. Started drinking 2 protein shakes a day and one regular meal. Did cheat a couple of days and had carbs and sweets, but would only set me back a day. I went to see my nutritionalist every 2 weeks to weigh and hold me accountable. Good luck to both of you. I don't regret one bit the surgery.
Take a look at a 12 step recovery program. Replace the word " alcohol" with good. The 12 step program has worked for me with alcohol. I've heard of it working with other addictions (food, work, etc). I had surgery Dec 30th. Had to lose 30 lbs before. The first 10 lbs were the hardest. Once I lost 10 lbs, it motivates me to keep on track. I would eat healthy for 6 days and have one day I would eat what I wanted, but would keep away from the carbs. Good luck.
I'm only 10 days post op. Still waiting until I can move to soft foods. Agree that you ate more popcorn than you should have or were told you could have. In my opinion, I know there will be a day that comes I will not eat exactly as I'm supposed to. I'd have unrealistic expectations to believe I will follow 100%. My goal, is in life, is to do the best of my ability. Move forward and do your best.
I had my surgery on Dec 30th also. Have been having same problems with gas issue. Seems like I'm better today than the first couple of days after surgery. I have on my grocery list to purchase Gas X. The doctor said he could help. I'm glad to here most people are saying in a week or so it gets better. I have been walking which I can feel that helps.
