  1. I'm a little confused because my understanding is that the hole for the stomach removal comes from the right side as mine did. I've heard that extreme left side pain can indicate a leak....not always I'm sure.
  2. Ok great. Thank you. I also went ahead and emailed my nutritionist and asked.
  3. They never gave me recommended portion sizes, that is probably part of the problem.
  4. Oh also, I only eat 3 meals a day....breakfast, lunch, and dinner and maybe one snack like a piece of cheese
  5. Well, I have been feeling great lately and am comfortable while eating. Here is the deal....I am 1 month out and I was just able to eat 8 oz of food without much of any problem. That seems like ALOT! I had flakey fish and mashed broccoli. What is the deal? It is kind of scary that I can eat that much but I also feel healthier than barely getting in 2 oz. I'm still eating around 700 calories a day, never over.
  6. Thank you guys.....@@The Candidate, great advice. Thank you!
  7. I'm really sorry to here that....I had really terrible pain and was readmitted to the hospital but no complications just a lot of pain. 4 days out I definitely still needed narcotic pain killers. I actually had my PCP perscribe it for me because me surgeon would not. My surgeon was really bad at pain management. I only needed one script for lortab and then by the 7th day I was good to go and no more pain meds. I hope you get some relief you should not have to be in that much pain that early out.
  8. I am 3 weeks tomorrow and have lost 12 lbs post op.....wtf? Please someone give me some insight. I lost more weight in the 2 weeks pre op (20 lbs). I just don't get it.
  9. Thank you everyone so much...I am feeling much better now eating well on my soft food stage getting about 700 calories a day meeting my protein goal and water goal...
  10. RickM-you are right on...thank you. And definitely not in public! ????????
  11. I put a couple of saltines in my soup today......I'm in the soft food stage....and let them get totally mushy....big mistake.....HUGE. I will never do that ever again. No flour forever it is not worth it. Terrible stomach cramps, vomitting, and stuck food. HUGE mistake. Take it from me and don't do it.
  12. I'm sorry you are right by eating I mean protein shakes and soup
  13. I am regretting everything about having this done right now. Every single thing I eat or drink except water makes me nauseas. Everything. I'm not getting anywhere near my protein and I have headaches. I am 2 weeks post op. I'm getting so discouraged and concerned.
  14. UCLA man---you said it just as I would have. I have had the exact same feelings. And yes I am experiencing some depression right now at 2 weeks post op. I hope everyone gets to feeling better I'm sure it just takes time.
  15. Hello again, I'm sorry I have posted so much.....but wanted to know if anyone else has had experience with this....I started full liquids today so I had 2 premier protein shakes, water, and 1/2 cup of tomato soup...I have also started having diarrhea today. Does anyone know what could be going on? Thank you!
  16. I posted a couple of days ago regarding my terrible trapped gas in my stomach after my sleeve procedure 5 days ago. I am now thinking I am getting the gas after having my protein shakes which leads me to believe I am having a hard time digesting the whey. My question is, I bought a vegan protein powder that is free of lactose and I hope that helps. I was also considering taking digestive enzymes. Does anyone have experience with these post op? I will discuss with my doc at my 1 week post op appt but thought I would also come here for some support. Thank you!
  17. I was sleeved on Tuesday the 5th of July so I am 4 days post op. I'm doing better each day EXCEPT I am having terrible has in my stomach and around where my hiatal hernia was repaired. SO MUCH GAS. Can anyone please shed some light on this I cannot seem to find much about it. Will it cause any complications. When I burp it is like this wierd reverse burp where it feels like I am taking in more air to get the burp out. Please let me know if this is normal. Thank you so much.
  18. My 2 week pre-op is protein shakes, yogurt, pudding, Popsicles....I'm sure I am hangry but I just can't handle all of this sweetness.
  19. I am really frustrated by it. Why so many protein shakes? Why not real, whole foods? Anyway....
  20. XoMonica, the preop diet is going well, I am on day 2 this morning. Just trying to remain positive!
