Putting on a few pounds - 2 months post RNY

@@annelisem my nutritionist taught us that every bite matters! Make sure you're not consuming too much also. And Protein first. There are quite a few people on here that say to put a tight reign on your carbs. My rule with carbs is to eat more protein than carb. With that said, I'm almost 3mo out from bypass and I have yet to eat Pasta. (My choice) So quality definitely matters. And food choice is huge! Why fill up on stuff that got us here in the first place? Good luck :-)

    No Complications

@@Velocity that is awesome! Almost 100 down. Good for you :-) I have some of the same struggles as you've mentioned. My surgeon said it can take a couple years for the brain to catch up to the body. Yes, I shall try and embrace the little things, which really are big things! :-)

    No Complications

That's what everyone keeps saying! They say I'm too hard on myself. But yes as long as it's going down I should be happy! Wow 20 day stall. I'd be going batty! It is a testament as to how the clothes are fitting. It's nice isn't it :-)

    Weight Lost!

I think that's about where I was at that point. I also had a "stall" around then. Very normal. Search for stall on here and you'll see it come up a lot! Congratulations on your loss.

    No Complications

@@Velocity I haven't had anything bad. Thrown up a few times but it's because the meat was too dry. My frustration is that compared to many, I'm a slow looser. It's frustrating! I'm following my doctors plan, I must be doing something wrong. I have 120 to loose at this point and lately I'm only dropping 1-2 lbs a week.

    FIRST MAJOR NSV!

I'm actually going into my kids school to volunteer at the book fair :-) I'm still big. But I'm not as big. So I finally feel like I can make an appearance in school without kids saying smack about me to my kids. I hope anyways!

Does anyone end up in a bikini? Please be honest!

Having the "perfect" bikini body doesn't hold people back at the beach! Haha, srsly! Lol

    Gastric Bypass Surgery Progress Pictures

@@laneydasilva is it worth going through life with the extra 150 lbs and missing out on soo much? Listen, my highest weight was 359. 2 1/2 mo post surgery I'm down to 289. I already look better, feel better, can do things I wasn't up to doing before. Size 28 to a 22 already! My knees feel better, my ankles aren't swollen. I have loose skin, but I'll take that. I'll be able to ride a coaster this summer. In life there aren't any guarantees. But if you want to be healthy and try to live a longer more productive life and have tried many times to loose weight without success, the scare of complications shouldn't be holding you back. Good luck!!
  11. How to Poop at Work: https://youtu.be/4Uvl9Mstj4A This video also covers how to fart at work! I've had terrible gas since my surgery. I've been told it's just an unfortunate side effect. So thought a little humor on the subject might be nice :-)

Netflix what are you watching? Which series do you love!?

I just started Torchwood. It's a doctor who spin-off starring captain Jack Harkness. I'm a little disappointed in it as the language is quite foul and is rather sexual. I'm disappointed because with doctor who my kids could watch it, and was hoping torchwood would be the same. So my review is more with children in mind.

    Unjury shake questions

My favorite shake flavor by unjury is chocolate splendor. As far as the unflavored, yuck. But, I was using it in my post op period in the liquid stages. I got to where I couldn't mix it in things myself and still drink it. It smelled gross to me. I couldn't even drink Protein shakes for a while post op. I was warned that things I liked preop I might not like post op and I didn't believe it! Well, believe, and good luck to you. And in rereading your post, I don't recommend unjury strawberry. Gag. Srsly, add unflavored to your broths or thinned cream Soups post op. It's good that you're trying all of this out now though! I ordered their sample or starter pack. Good way to try out unjury.

5 weeks post op & starving!

Hi there! I'm gastric bypass just fyi. My program allows us to eat every 2-3 hours. Small nutritious meals, focusing on Protein. Can you provide some more information, like what you're eating, how often etc? That way hopefully you'll get more responses :-)

Help! Insurance changing to United Health Care on April 1

Our uhc provided through my husband's job was excellent! I actually had no requirement of waiting on their part. The program I chose though had a minimum 3 mo. requirement. Which in the end I'm thankful for. In that time I learned a lot about food, nutrition and what my new eating life would look like. I hope you have a wonderful experience with uhc as I did.

    What’s Your Relationship with Exercise?

Love-hate. I get so much energy from exercise, but I feel guilty sometimes because it seems as if everything I'm doing this year is all about me. I've been able to increase my time and resistance on both the exercise bike and elliptical machines. My thighs and butt are definitely benefiting from the machines.

    Celebrating small victories

@@anaxila you are looking great! Can definitely see a difference :-) I feel like I'm a slow looser also. I'm glad I'm losing though! First pic I was 359. Middle pic is dos @335. Last pic is today @ 297. 8 wks post op.
  20. I said age 18 previously, and I thought I'd elaborate. For me I was a size 28ish bride at 1mo past 19. I quickly got to a size 32 after marriage. There's soo much more that I wanted to do before having my first child at 21. Being obese held me back from doing those things. Being obese made me not have a beautiful baby bump. Being obese also resulted in 3 high risk pregnancies. If I would've went through this wls journey as a young adult I might've had better pregnancies, a social life and beautiful baby bumps. I'm sure some may disagree, but these are just my feelings, for what it's worth.

    don't feel full?

1/2 cup of food and I'm stuffed. Today I'm having emotional issues and am really dealing with head hunger. I'm still trying to get used to eating what I need vs. what I want or used to eat. Mostly a quantity thing. Food tastes soo good to me that I want to eat more. Always been an issue for me.
  22. 18! & same goes for my daughter. As a parent, I want what's best for her. This has been one of the best things I've done for myself.

    Terrified of sleep study

^^Because the at home study was brought up, here's a pic of me in my at home test. I did this for 2 nights, but I guess because of results I still had to do an in lab test. Which sucked! Best of luck to you!
  24. I just came across this and saw that no-one replied. 1st - I hope you're doing ok now. If not I recommend getting to your obgyn. Hopefully you're being seen every year. 2nd - I get pain that shoots into my vagina. I have 3 children, and while pregnant with each one I would have this pain or feeling that they were coming out while I would walk. My Dr said it was just pressure. Idk. But anyways I guess about 2 1/2 years ago, not pregnant, I started getting that pain/pressure feeling again as if something was coming out of me. It mostly happened while walking but would also occur with bending and picking up heavy things. My obgyn found nothing wrong! Initially he thought it could be a bladder prolapse. Yay it's not. My highest weight was 359. I'm 7 wks out and now just under 300. But one day last week while on the elliptical I felt it again. I was hoping that weight loss would stop whatever it is. Especially since everything wrong with me is because I'm obese;-) Idk if this is the same pain you're feeling or not when it comes to the vaginal area. But I do hope you get looked at and everything is ok. My obgyn walked away from his practice and I've been avoiding finding a new one. Feel free to update on here. I hope you're doing better.

    What Are You Reading?

I just finished the two Miss Peregrine books. Loved, loved, loved them! Can't wait for the 3rd one in September. Also recently read The catcher in the rye. It was really good.
