It took about 2 days once it was in their systems, however my Drs. office sent it certified returned receipt and they actually received it 2 weeks prior to that.
The only required a letter of "medical neccesity" from the Drs. office.
I kept calling Humana but they will NOT tell you anything over the phone. It wasn't until I received a letter in the mail, my Drs. office received one as well.

Lol...I love it!!!! Easy my foot..this is one of the hardest things I have ever done!!!

My surgeon asks that you not consume alcohol for the first year. I think some of it is that it is high in calories/sugar, and metabolizes differently with a smaller stomach. Also, there is research that is showing an increase in alcohol dependence after gastric surgery (cross addiction and liquids go through really easy :-). Not to say this would happen to you but something to certainly be aware of. I am actually an alcohol and drug counselor and have seen a number of clients recently who never had a problem with alcohol pre- surgery and now find themselves having problems. I know for me, genetics and now sleeved I'm not sure I want to take the chance anymore. So if you decide to have a glass....have one for me :-)

To say the least...my PCP was so good to me...in so many words she said to gain five pounds and you are there...I had a couple of cormorbidities (?) As well... she knew I was tired and needed this chance to get my life back...and she supported me every step of the way!

Also had mine on 12/17. I had high hopes, but it has gone way better then I anticipated. I waited 9 months after the pre-op diet.

I'll be writing up a full 'tell your story' when i get half way to goal, but just wanted to chime in on your post.
I'm feeling normal. I literally feel exactly the same except I have a smaller stomach. I've been really motivated to exercise and have been averaging 4 miles a day on walking/cardio machine workouts. I'm throwing out/donating fat clothes. To say I don't regret my decision is a huge understatement. Couldn't be happier.

I'm learning on a daily basis what to eat and what not to eat! I know that I've lost my taste for my usual friends, cakes, Cookies, pies, chips, ice creams, breads and Pasta. They've lost their appeal for the most part. I still like Protein Shakes, like Unjury and I forget who makes that chocolate truffle flavored Protein Shake, but it is simply divine! But my doctor says that by now I should be weaning off those and getting my Protein sources from regular food. I feel like I've been on a stall this past week and I know part of it is because I don't exercise regularly. I bet if I did that on a regular basis I would get past the stall. I'm just not motivated like I need to be. I wish I had an exercise buddy to walk with and share the sleeve journey with. My family is supportive but they don't truly understand the intricacies and challenges of this sleeve journey! You seem to be doing very well, though.

I am! I was sleeved 12/17/14! One of the best decisions ever. I started out weighing 342. Preop weight 331.Current weight 290. Very few complications.

Or anyone 12/17ish??? Lol

Ladies...it will get better I promise! You just have to give it time...be patient with your new tummy.. I had my gall bladder and the sleeve done at the same time on 12/17/14..I had atleast 4 breakdowns...thought it was the worst decision of my life...I am still struggling with the Protein and liquids but I am determined to get it right...b12 for energy it has helped me tremendously. ..make sure you are chewing chewing chewing...I still can't enjoy lots of foods but the ones I can I eat the heck out of them...lol...as soon as you feel full stop eating even if it is not the amount intended...let your tummy be your guide...I just ordered GENEPRO on Amazon going to try that... I am taking this (pic below) to help with Hair loss until I can get my Proteins right...can't tolerate shakes...I just woke up one day and things were better... I hope you both feel better soon!!!

I have been in a stall for 3.5 weeks now. But I know it will end and I will start losing again. Keep doing what you are doing and you will be fine.

We have the same surgery date! I am feeling the same way. I am miserable. I don't want to even eat or drink but I know I better. I am following my surgeons advice but its hard. I am going to hang in there (we really have no choice) I know one day I will wake up and feel great. I have lost 21 pounds 6 pre 15 post. So I can't wait to say I've lost one hundred! ONE DAY AT A TIME! WE GOT THIS!

I told my hubby please do not buy popcorn for my first 3 weeks....lol I LOVE POPCORN!! Well my precious little girl (5 years old) says daddy we need popcorn for our movie night!! NOOOOOOO LOL How could we deny that little face! Her and I are popcorn lovers!! Needless to say I survived the wonderful aroma and crunchy sounds during our movie night...I sipped apple juice!! I survived!!!

When I drank everything close to freezing it settled so much better...something about the cold!! Surgery date 12/17..
