Ms.L. reacted to Pkdvm in 100 pounds gone for me!
    Hi,fellow sleevers
Today was a real red letter day for me, as I hit the 100# down mark. I am beyond grateful for this chance at a new life and I feel so much better and more active. I'd always dreamed about the day that I could post before and after pictures on this site, and now it's my turn. Woo hoo!

Ms.L. got a reaction from BLERDgirl in bowel movements are a no go
I had the same problem until I was on a regular diet that included fruits and vegetables. It will get better. Until then I used Colace a few times a week as a stool softener. It didn't make me have a BM, but it made it easier when I did.

Ms.L. got a reaction from TREVORSMOM in Stomach Sleepers-How soon after surgery could you sleep on your stomach?
It was actually quicker than I expected. Within a few days I was sleeping on my side with a pillow propped against me (almost like being on stomach) and probably in about 2 weeks I was back to sleeping on my stomach.
I've had other surgery where it took much longer. The recovery from this surgery was very easy.

Ms.L. got a reaction from NancyandZach in Getting Cold Feet?
I am 3 months out and I eat much less, but totally normal. I have never gotten sick from something I've eaten. While still on the liquid diet and mushy diet there were many times when I felt hungry and was worried that the surgery didn't work. Right from the beginning I did not have trouble eating. Once I was on full solids, I know I fill up fast, but eating has never been a problem. A typical dinner for me is 2-3 oz of chicken, some cooked veggies and if I am very hungry that day maybe 1/2 of a very small baked potato. I know people say avoid other things beside Protein and veggies, but a 2-3 times a week with dinner I enjoy some potato just for variety. Drinking has also never been a problem for me after about day 3. I know there are people who do have problems, but there are also many, many people who can eat and drink comfortably right from the start ~ just in much smaller portions!

Ms.L. reacted to Debbie Jean in Bread and Biscuits post op
I am 6 weeks post op and was cleared to have toast at 3 weeks. I do enjoy a piece with an egg a couple of times a week. I have had no problems with any food I have eaten including the toast. Don't eat bread since it can expand in the tum or so my nut told me.
Hasn't slowed my weight loss thus far but if it would thats something I would adjust in the future if I felt it was necessary. I'm not in a race but a journey. I see people saying they allow themselves a piece of chocolate as their indulgence for all the hard work they are doing. That doesn't interest me lol. The egg and toast is my indulgence ????

Ms.L. reacted to JamieLogical in 1 month post- is my loss normal?
One thing I've come to understand and appreciate with my "slow" loss is that early on, I was still in a "diet mindset" about my weight loss. When we've dieted in the past, we've always wanted to lose weight super fast, because we wanted to be "done" with the diet. Well, news flash: our sleeves aren't going anywhere. We will never be "done" with our sleeves. So if it takes 6 months or 16 months to lose the weight, what does it really matter? We will get where we're going eventually. And there are actually some advantages to losing more slowly like:
replacing clothing less frequently a chance for our skin to adapt and recover not getting so many prying questions from friends and coworkers about our drastic weight loss

Ms.L. got a reaction from hdd55146 in hungry on day 4
I'm 10 days out and I get hungry. My doctor puts us on the pureed and mushy diet the day after surgery. Before I left the hospital I had tuna with mayo. I can also eat yogurt, scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese and a few other things. I definitely get hungry, the difference is I am satisfied after about 2 oz of food. This may sound strange, but I'm glad I still feel hunger. I want to still enjoy food, just much less food and at a healthy weight!

I'm home from the hospital and feeling better than expected. My doctor does not do the liquid diet. After my swallow test I had liquids for Breakfast. At lunch when I could eat 2 oz of tuna fish or cream Soup - it was my choice with n problems, they sent me home! I am home for Christmas - so happy. I hope the rest of you Dec. 23rd people are as lucky as me.
