Not calling me to schedule sx
Sharon1964 replied to Janiegirl1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you need a little smile, so here goes. I know that "sx" is an abbreviation for "surgery." Still, every time I see your headline, I see it as "not calling me to schedule sex." And then I giggle. Yeah, I'm a dork sometimes. -
At 15 days out, pain that wakes you up or prevents you from sleeping isn't normal. I would go to the E.R., it does sound like you need a scan on your spleen. I would also talk to your regular doctor and ask what are the odds that your spleen was bleeding and your surgeon was NOT responsible. That's something that I think needs exploring.

Okay, how about this... if your mouth is going to be where the oil has been, it's not a bad deal. Would I say it's awesome? No... I prefer things to be more... "natural". LOL.

Better than a mouth full of Vaseline or baby oil. LOL.

I should have said more about her age. She has gotten more and more conservative as she has gotten older. I have a cookbook called "Intercourses" - the subtitle is "an aphrodisiac cookbook." Here: http://intercourses.com/book.htm I bought it for the beautiful photography (is that like saying, "I read penthouse for the forums"??). She pitched such a fit about me having "a disgusting book" in the living room that I put it away.

Venting - So Mad!
Sharon1964 replied to Brenda Sherwood's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every morning at 10 am call your doctor's office and ask if the paperwork has been faxed in. If they say yes, call the insurance company and ask them. If insurance says no, call your doctor's office back. The squeaky wheel gets the surgery date. Every morning at 10 am call your doctor's office and ask if the paperwork has been faxed in. Walmart carries them (in my town, anyway), as well as grocery stores. Eggface has a blog with recipes; she uses them a lot.

What is your max out of pocket? You can expect that they will want their portion up front. If you haven't met your max out of pocket, write the check. If you have, you may want a three-way conference call so that your insurance company can tell them that you won't have any further cost. I wrote a check for $3,000 on the day of my surgery, as I expected. Later I paid a small amount after everything had processed. Just because a hospital charges $38,000 doesn't mean that's what the fee schedule rate is.

I'm 8 1/2 months out, and I eat between 1/3 and 1/2 cup at each meal, three meals a day.

Not telling people about your surgery is a "half truth" or a "lie" steams me like a pile of fresh cow dung...

Good lord yes. Do you really want to know that I like my (blank) to be (blanked) with a (blank)? REALLY? -

So what you're saying is that in all the scenarios I listed in my original post, you would give full details? Really? Ask me how my Friday night was, I'll tell you "great - had an awesome date, great dinner, spent a lot of time together, can't wait to do it again." If I post the details here, Alex will put me in a major time-out. Am I lying? Am I not being truthful? Life isn't court - the truth, the whole truth, etc.... doesn't mean you're lying. -
Women....painful sex after WLS?
Sharon1964 replied to ashleypriv's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Three weeks???? I didn't even wait three weeks after a C-section! Maybe your surgeon thinks missionary, man-on-top is the only position. -
Well you thought WRONG, mister! Didn't you know that riding a bike is akin to foreplay for some women????

@@Alex Brecher Mine still hasn't updated since yesterday. I see a blue top and white pants in my avatar, but when I go to my profile, it's a white top and skirt and a black and white jacket. -

I got the book and skimmed a few chapters. Looks like it's going to be a good read. -
You won't know if you really need it if you take it around the clock, unless you can feel it wear off before your next dose. That's why they have pain pumps that you can activate yourself in the hospital - if you don't need it, you don't push the button. I work for a pain management doctor, and Percocet is prescribed "as needed for pain" in our practice.
