February 10th! ;; Houston Tx. ;; Day 1 of liquid diet down... this sucks. Lol but I know it will be well worth it!!
@@xoMonica it gets easier! I promise! The first 3 days are HELL! DO NOT CHEAT! No sugar no carbs! By day 4, it is easy-peasy. Really! I promise! And this is coming from a confirmed bread-chocolate-chip-candy-sugar- 4cups coffee a day-aholic!

@@signexp , I fly out of Houston early on the 3rd (we live in Galveston), surgery first thing Wednesday morning! My husband is Michael Lange and I am Denise. At Vida, they don't let the guys stay overnight, so Michael will be by himself at the Marriott. It will be nice to hook up with some Texas peeps!

I am 1 week 2 days into it. Let me tally, the first 3 days SUCK!! Sorry! But, after that, it is super easy! I have never once felt hungry. Seriously! I had a shake for Breakfast and lunch, then a salad with tuna or chicken on it for supper. I had to remember to drink the lunch shake! I was totally not hungry. My nut suggested adding 2 teas chia seeds and 1/2 of a banana to each shake and it really helped.

Great questions, great answers! I love my BP family!

@@tiger1961 , when are you doing your bowel prep (taking the laxative)? You are scheduled for Monday, right? Just wondering. I have to fly to Mexico on the 3rd for my surgery on the 4th and do not want to be having diarrhea on the plane. Sorry about the TMI, but just getting a bit anxious about that part.

Exciting, isn't it! Funny how it's the little things that are so important right now! Keep up the good work!
And, DO NOT eat those peas!

Hey I tightened my bra in by a row of hooks today! Down seven pounds so far.Doing things like cleaning out my freezer. Would you believe I found a package of peas from 2013? Hmmmmm.

I am 1 full week into my pre-op diet and feel AMAZING! The first 3 days were total HELL, caffein-sugar-carb withdrawals and horrible! Headache, body aches, fatigue. Bad stuff. Day 4, it was like someone flipped a switch! And I haven't cheated a SINGLE TIME! ZERO! My nut suggested adding 2 tablespoons chia seeds and 1/2 of a banana to each Protein Shake and it really helps keep me full. Anyway, I am a week and a day out! Feb 4 seems so close, and so far at the same time! EEK!

Seriously waiting to see the veterans responses to this one! I am currently packing my bags!

The reason I ask about a new topic is I'm really upset right now. I'm pre-op. I go for my first consultation with my surgeon Wednesday. My husband says he is supportive of me getting surgery but would also help me diet and work out now that he has retired. Last night we talked in depth. I have been dieting for 2 days on Slim Fast to prep myself for my MD visit. He went to the grocery today. We specifically talked about his sabotaging me without meaning too in the past and NO chocolate in the house. So he buys chocolate POPTARTS!!! He says "Oh I didn't think we were starting now" and "I have to have something" completely lying to me. How can I trust him to help me through this process We are both on Social Security and have been married 38 years next month. Our 34 year old handicapped daughter lives with us that requires care. I am feeling really angry. This is his MO.
I have found that since day 3 of the Protein Shakes, I have ZERO cravings! It is amazing! I just watched my husband eat the last of the vanilla ice-cream with chocolate sauce, and, nope, I didn't want to cut his throat! It is amazing! So, basically, you do YOUR THING. Let him do HIS. It is your body you want to change, not his. Do what is right for you. Rely on yourself to make the changes. Would it be nice to live in a chocolate-carb-sugar-chip free home? YES! Is that a reality when there is a man in the house? NO! Try not to put too much of this burden on him, or anyone else. You are sure to be disappointed. Trust yourself. Your body will kick in and take over at some point. Now, I am not saying the first 3 sugar-caffeine-carb days were easy. Not saying that I didn't want to kill anyone that spoke to me. What I am saying is that it gets easier! Hang in there. We are all right here if you need us!

I was told clear liquids for 14 days prior.
WOW! 14 days on only clear liquid! How do you keep from passing out?
-
@GlammieGrammie , I am Feb 4 as well! I am doing really well on the pre-op diet. Anxious for the big day. 1 week, 2 days to go! Are you starting Clear Liquids on the first? When are yo doing the dreaded laxative clean out?
-
How are the surgical sites doing? What are you doing to take care of them? Can't find any real info on this subject, and as a pre-opper going in on Feb 4, these are the questions I need answers to! I live kinda rural and need to have everything I might need on hand before surgery. Thanks!

@@Hetera , I am drinking Arbonne chocolate with 2 teas Chia seeds and 1/2 of a banana. Sometimes I add a cup of vanilla Greek yogurt. It is really good and is doing the trick! Zero cravings, ZERO cheats so far and only 4 days to go!
