  1. I hafd my surgery on 12-15-14 and my hw 439 cw 280!
  2. I'm currently working out 2.5 hours doing cardio. 1Hour on treadmill were i burn about 1200 calories, then the elliptical for 1 hour burning 743 calories, and then 30 mins on the stationary bike burning 254 calories. I guess my question is with burning that amount of calories 6days a week, how many calories do i need to intake to keep my body lossing weight and not hit a stall. I guess you could say that magic number that healthy but still keeps the pounds coming off. Even getting in the protein and water, it like my body needs more, or I'll be tired. My trainer suggested increase my calories, so has anyone else dealt with this.
  3. I intake about 850 to 900 calories a day and I burn about 2000 to 2100 during cardio exercise not including what I burn during weightlifting. Can anyone tell me if I'm intaking enough to not send my body into starvation mode!
  4. Hello Everyone, I'm doing great and I glad to hear that everyone is having such positive results and attitudes. My surgery was December 15th and I'm down 100lbs since surgery. 155lbs since I started my journey. I have another 94lbs to go to reach my goal and I'm not letting anything stand in my way! Keep up the great work everyone and keep pushing forward.
  5. Congratulations and keep up the good work!
  6. I'm so surprised that i was able to walk 21 laps around the track at my sons high school and I wasn't tired at all when I was done. Plus it was 95 degrees outside.
  7. I'm 6 months today and my HW was 439, SW 382, and today I weigh 287. I haven't weighed under 300lbs in 18 years.
  8. We all have had times where we felt the weight wasn't coming off fast enough, but just remember that your body is still adjusting to your new eating habits and the surgery. Also give yourself a pat on your back because you already took a big step with having the surgery now just keep pushing forward and follow your plan.
  9. The day of surgery I was 382 from 439.Now I'm 297 and 5 months out!
  10. I'm finally in 200's after 8 years of trying and I'm so happy!
  11. At my heaviest, 3months, and then last week.
  12. Here I am at my heaviest, then at 3 months mark, then just last week.
  13. I walked 5.3 miles and I wasn't tired and I did it in less than two hours.
  14. Congrats and wish you much success! Hopefully i will be joining you on 200lb Blvd soon, I have 11 more lbs to go. I have come a long way from 439lbs, and a long way to go to get to my goal of 160.
  15. Thank you giys for your suggestions and I'm wondering if having a hysterectomy a few years back and this surgery throw my hormones off causing the hot flashes as was suggested earlier.
  16. It's totally worth it! Not everyone has complications, and I'm one of the lucky ones. I stated this journey at 439lbs and had my surgery on December 15,2014 at 383lbs, and now 3 1/2 months post I'm down to 312. I still have 152 to go to reach my goal and I'm not letting anything get in my way.
  17. I know how you feel about getting the calories right, I'm struggling with the same thing. I'm currently in a biggest loser contest at my gym and I'm up against women half my size and the contest is based on body percentage lost and I'm determined to win, so i have my protein and water where it needs to be, i just need to play with my calorie intake to find that magic number for my body and activity level.
  18. Congrats on your success and i pray everything go as planned for your surgery.
  19. You are not alone, today is my nephew's engagement party, and all my clothes are to big, and i think its time to reward myself with some new clothes.
  20. Thank you so much! I think we all need to hear that sometimes to stay motivated! I wish everyone much success of your journeys also!
  21. Hello everyone, I'm from Clayton NC. Hw. 439 Sw. 383 Cw. 314 Gw. 160 My surgery was December 15, 2014
  22. Congrats on your success!
  23. I am almost 3 1/2 months out and I'm down 68lbs, and i entered a biggest loser contest at my gym and it goes by body percentage lost so i up against women half my size who i have to lose double what they lose to even compete with them. Through this process i have learned that getting enough calories in a day makes a big difference. One week i was eating 800-900 and i lost 7lbs, then the next week i ate 500-650 in calories and i only lost 2.7lbs. Through those weeks i kept my exercise the same of 6 days a week, 2 hours a day, 1 hour and 40mins cardio and 20mins Strength training. So just like was suggested, find out how many calories work for your body and your activity level. My nutritionist said normally we should be intakeing 800 - 1200 after the 2 month mark following surgery.
  24. That's what has me worried because it happens when i not eating so it can't be from dumping.
