  1. At first I didn't have a set goal, but after seeing how setting goals has helped me so far I decided to do it. My weight goal is 130lbs which I haven't worn since I was a little girl. I have always had weight issues since birth, being born at more than 10lbs.
  2. Sorry about the staples and pain but I'm glad to hear you are getting better! Continue to stay positive!
  3. You're welcome! Stay positive and focused on getting healthy!
  4. Good luck and wish you a speedy recovery!
  5. Thank you so much claudi2103! I had been feeling so guilty!
  6. Congrats and I'm glad to hear you are home already.
  7. Hello, I'm 36 also and I'm currently 396lbs. I know how it is to battle with your wait and also take care of your spouse, who also has health issues! I have five teenagers to deal with, so I can relate to you. By taking this step you are helping yourself and your family down the line! I'm here if you need to talk or need support. My email is leanoramoore@yahoo.com.
  8. Congrats to everyone that has had or will have their surgery this month. The 15th is coming fast and being on day 7 of my diet its becoming easier. I'm getting excited and as the weekend approaches I feel like I'm going to do the happy dance.
  9. Congrats on your surgery, and I'm pray for your speedy recovery!
  10. My husband says he supports me, but every now and then he will ask why am I doing the surgery. The thing is my husband is attracted to big women, but he also wants me to be happy and healthy. My kids are supportive as teenagers can be. My parents are excited for me and are going to the hospital with me. Even with their support, you still feel alone in this because no one knows your battle with your weight. I'm glad you joined this group because everyone here has been where you are and can relate to you. I've been battling my weight since birth and have been trying to get this surgery for three years but my old insurance made it hard for me so I switched companies. Like maggie0210 said, join an local support group so you can meet people and hear their journeys. I'm also here if you ever need to talk or need support. My surgery is Monday the 15th and I'm excited. This experience is giving you your life back and don't let anyone take that from you. My email is leanoramoore@yahoo.com and you can email me anytime.
  11. I have to be honest, I cheated on day two and three of my diet, I had a few chips on day two, and I had two bites of pepperoni pizza on day three! After that I removed anything that could tempt me to cheat out of my house. I'm on day seven now, and its getting easier, since I still cook for my family every night. The guilt of cheating starts to set in after you do it and you remind yourself why you are doing the diet in the first place. Just remember that you are human and make mistakes, but in the end make sure you learn from it and become a better person.
  12. Congrats on you up and coming surgery, mine is the 15th also! Being nervous is normal, so continue to stay positive and continue to trust in God!
  13. I'm on day six and its getting easier, I'm not having the stomach cramps as bad, but the craving for food is. So each day is still a battle but, when I think about grabbing something that I don't need I pick up a sugar free jello or popsicle to curve the craving and I also started writing on my next romance novel which keeps me very busy.
  14. I know how it is with you family because I have five teenagers and my youngest son is in so many sports that I'm constantly running around with him. I have also carved out time for me to go to the gym six days a week while he's in school so I can go to his games or pick him up from practice. Being a mother is never an easy job but as the weight comes off it will be easier.
  15. Congrats and I pray everything went well!
  16. Mine is the 15th also! Congrats ladies and I wish you much success!
  17. Thank you for your suggestions, and support!
  18. My doctor suggested that if I'm not having a bowel movement and then I take a laxative and still nothing then I needed to contact him.
  19. I meet with the anesthesiologist tomorrow also so best of luck and let me know how it goes.
  20. I definitely will and mine is leanoramoore@yahoo.com.
  21. My surgeon was different, I only have to do the diet for ten days because I finally met with him on the 5th of this month and my surgery is on the 15th. So I guess you could say I got lucky! I also found a great tasting protein shake today called six star soy protein series and you can by it at Walgreens or Walmart. You can get it in many favors but I think I'm sticking with the french vanilla creme! There are a lot of shakes out there, you just need to find the one for you!
  22. Hi Byrd, thank you for offering and I'm looking forward to hearing about you journey!
  23. I'm going to try the laxative too, to empty all the toxins from my body!
  24. I want to thank you all for sharing your experiences, because I never heard about transferring additions and the chances of being an alcoholic. Its an eye opener and now that I'm aware of this possibly I can work on it!
