Slimsoon1988 got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Donate or Save Clothes
So I'm 6 months post op and have lost 85 pounds. I'm finally fitting into medium shirts(gulp!) and inching closer to 36 waist jeans from a size 44. Today I have taken out all the clothes I can no longer fit and its a huge amount of clothes. Maybe 2-3 large garbage bags worth.
What are some of your rules around clothing? With 30 more pounds to lose until I reach goal, I really hope to never ever wear these clothes again. But I'm very much aware that regain may happen in the future but I also don't believe in saving clothes waiting on a day that may or may not happen. Idk what to do!

I have lost about 80pds as I approach my 6 month sleeveasery. I'm about 35 pounds from goal.. Some days I go wow I look so small and other days I go wow I'm a big. I guess my brain hasn't caught up.

Slimsoon1988 got a reaction from Niki15 in 3 weeks out, no weight lost/help
If you didn't weigh yourself right after surgery then it's possible that you could have gained weight due to the fluids. I've heard of people leaving the hospital over 10 pounds heavier. So actually you could have lost weight and may not know.

I was just talking about this the other day. At 275pds I had no desire to do anything. Now at 195 the urge has come back. I'm not sure if that is because I have more confidence and feel better about myself or if there is some internal hormonal changes.

Yeah I get like this sometimes. I'm a few days from the 5 month mark. Some days I look in the mirror and go wow I'm so small and other days I'm like I'm huge. I think it's mental and the clothes I may be wearing that day.

The problem is not that the person veered off course. We will all do that. The problem was the person consumed a dangerous amount of alcohol/food days after their surgery, which could have seriously danger that person's recovery, health, and life. Although im glad that person is fine, I do not want anyone reading this to think that person's actions are acceptable. Some people read this form to see how far they can push their surgery. Someone reading that this person consumed xyz and was fine means they can do the same and be fine.
Again what is done is done but I felt the need to respond out of concern to the future sleevers.

I went shopping today and I can now fit in a size 38 waist for men. In most regular stores 38 is sometimes the biggest size but I'm fine with that. At least I no longer have to go on a mad hunt searching for who sales waist 44 pants

Some people will insist on drinking days after surgery regardless of the research. Don't waste your time.

Just because one can drink 6 glasses of alcohol weeks after surgery and be "fine" after does not mean one did not cause damage to their sleeve or self. This is when the slippery slope begins. Oh I had 6 glasses of alcohol and I'm good so it's ok! Let me try again! Oh I can have 6 glasses of alcohol and still lose weight so that means I did good today.
Some of these post are concerning indeed. Trust me I'm no alcohol police. I'm 3 months out and have had a glass of wine twice. And plan to certainly drink A glass of wine during special occasions and social gatherings in the future but I wouldn't have dare compromised my healing process by downing alcohol 2 weeks after surgery which is a critical part of healing.
My post is not to judge or make anyone feel bad because what is done is done this post comes from pure concern of some of the dangerous actions taking by some.

Lord people are still not getting it. Having 7 alcoholic drinks 2-4 weeks out of surgery and having a 2oz moscato 2 months out are two different things. This is not an attack on alcohol but rather... You know what I'm tired of repeating myself. Enjoy everyone!

Sigh! If folks can't see the problem with downing multiple alcoholic beverages just 2 weeks after surgery then they will never see the light.
Our posts were not from a judgmental state it was more from a shock and concern state, maybe a bit of anger too. But hey it's your body, do you!
