    High PTT?

I got like a million blood tests done in prep for my surgery (1/26), and they said my PT was normal but that my PTT was elevated and it might have an effect on my surgery date. Apparently it just means I might clot more. The doctor says it might be a lab error so I'm gonna get the test rerun. Anyone else have this problem?
  2. I'm just over 4 weeks out and I've noticed that over this past week I've felt almost no hunger at all. I know that's a big part of the surgery and everything, BUT forcefeeding myself hasn't been super fun but I don't want to be malnourished. I've tried reverting back to liquids and no matter what I consume I feel nauseated. No vomiting, though. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Body jerk

I believe this is called a myclonic jerk. I may have spelled it wrong. It's normal for the body to do it when you're about to fall asleep because it's making sure you're doing that and not dying. So it's actually a good thing!

    Artificial sugar vs real sugar

The only time I've puked post-surgery was caused by sugar free gum. That said, protein shakes and other sugar free foods have gone down fine.
  8. I talked to my surgeon's office today and they said that, for every flight for the rest of my life, I have to go on a full liquid diet on the day of the flight until 2 hours after I land. I have to get a note from the doctor so I can bring protein shakes on the flight and everything. Does anyone have any insight on this? I wasn't given any info on this before the surgery (I'm 3 weeks post-op.)

OK, clearly I need to get a second opinion! I thought that seemed fishy. Thanks, guys!

    cheesecake factory

I just went to Cheesecake Factory TODAY! I had a soft chicken taco off the new low cal menu. My friend are the other two that came with the order. :-)

    No more reflux?

I've noticed a MARKED improvement in my reflux since my surgery! It's nice! I hope it lasts. *knocks on wood*

    Sushi?

I'm 2 weeks out and just had a tuna avocado Naruto roll - wrapped in cucumber instead of rice. Chewed to a mush, of course. It seems to be doing just fine! Hooray! ????
  13. I was starting to get worried that my stomach was too big, or that I'd never even HAD the surgery! (I know, super silly thoughts.) I've been able to get down liquids and soft cheeses and even little rice crackers, no prob! Yesterday I had a single serving microwaveable bowl of mac and cheese, and even a tiny piece of chicken (all well-chewed, of course, and I stayed within my calories and hit my protein). No problems at all. BUT! I just made myself a cup of turkey chili, and I couldn't even get through a third of it. It's weirdly comforting to feel that full. ????

    Got my date: January 21st

I was sleeved Jan 29th! I've been introducing soft cheeses into my diet and they're going well, and I just had a little piece of chicken and it went down with no problems. I'm pretty sick of drinking water, though.

Do you miss anything about being fat?

I'm only a little more than a week out of surgery but I'm probably going to miss being so intimidating - it's kinda weird, but I like finding out that people are afraid of me. It's up to me to keep that up when I'm smaller!

    Anyone else having weird cravings?

I've been having some crazy cravings! Sushi and chicken Parm, pizza, and a hamburger from McDonalds would be the biggest things on my list. BUT more than that, I keep having dreams where I eat things (two nights ago it was pizza and cake, last night it was jelly beans) to excess and then I wake up with a stomachache! It goes away after my brain realizes I didn't eat them, but still!

    Are you hungry?

I am almost a week post-op and I have been noticing hunger. However, I get full a lot faster, and I eat SO slowly. It took me an hour to finish 1/2 a cup of blended minestrone soup and I felt so nourished. It's hard at night, though, I will say. :-/

    2.5 Months Out & FAIL

You've done great! Having a little treat on a fun vacation is fine. Also, crab has plenty of protein! If I couldn't have a drink once in a while post surgery I wouldn't have done it.

    Chewable calcium is HORRIBLE

What kind are you using? I'm using Tums ultra-strength (like I used before surgery) and it goes down OK.
