Do You Eat Breakfast? What Do You Have?

During the week I get up early 4:30 and have coffee, creamer, Protein mixed in. Then I work out. Between 6:30-7 am I have a shakeology with a handful of strawberries or blueberries. Start work then around 9 I have the weight control Quaker oatmeal maple and brown sugar. I usually add in a little unflavored protein. Weekends-Since I am on maintenance I have whatever I want but I always have Breakfast I like to read the previous posts to get ideas. Thanks- LA
  2. I use it because it's the only one I have found that has no flavor and mixes well. I am not so sure I believe it's 30 so I count it around 15 like Jamie says. I am pretty lose with my counting though. I just always make sure I have Protein with whatever I eat. 14 months out and have been using it a year. Never had any problems with my lab work. I mix it in my coffee every morning. ~LA

    Puget Sound Bariatric Center.. Anyone?

14 months out. Love Dr. Billings and everyone there. I was self pay so my timing was all based around my work schedule since I didn't have to get approved by Insurance. I still had to meet with the Psych, surgeon, nutritionist, and trainer but I think only a few times before surgery. The prediet was so much better than others. Just 2 weeks low carb ~LA

Appetite suppressants (prescribed) 2 years out...

Great thread. After 14 months I can definitely tell I am more hungry and can eat more now. I am still within my 2 lb bounce range but was thinking about doing 3 day Protein liquid diet Jan 1-3 since I'll be off work and hoping it would shrink my tummy back a little bit. It's a daily struggle but I am really glad I chose to do this and found this site. ~LA
  6. I used to eat 2 maybe 3 pieces of pieces and now I can maybe finish one and I am a year out. Also it's thin crust pizza.

    Weightlifting Post Surgery

I started cardio at about one month but waited to start doing lifting at about 8 weeks. Just like anything start out light and work your way up. I do crossfit 3x a week no problems. I ran 11.5 miles on Sunday. You will be fine with lower calories once your body is healed. Take your supplements, drink your Water, and eat your Protein. It works ~LA

How Did You Do on Thanksgiving?

I was pretty nervous as it was also my Birthday this weekend. I told myself I wasn't going to get on the scale this morning but I did and I am so happy I didn't gain anything. I had a little bit of everything for dinner and I did have dessert. But I also ran 6.5 miles on Thanksgiving and 10 miles yesterday. Took a spin class and did a weight workout. Back to healthy eating today. I already have my day planned out. I am weird it actually makes me happy to have structure. Happy Holidays everyone! ~LA

    How Long Should I wait?

6-8 weeks to fully heal is what I adhered to. Start out slow and then work your way up. It's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck- LA
  10. Hummus. I really used to not like Hummus but I love it now. Almond Butter-Maybe because I hated to stir the darn oil at the top. Now I buy those Justin packages that I just squish and put on my apples. Yum Protein Bars-I had never found one I liked as they always tasted like saw dust until I came to this board. I LOVE Power Crunch Bars. Even on maintenance I eat these. Having Normal Size Boobs-34C Ever since 7th grade I was bigger chested. I even had a reduction 10 years ago but still had a tough time buying shirts and sports bra's. I love being able to buy a regular Nike sports bra and be able to run 10 miles no problem. And they are less expensive I love being Healthy. I have hardly gotten sick over the last year and with two kids I would always catch a few bugs throughout the year. I don't love taking my Vitamins but I do it because I love being healthy. I love that I had the courage to do this for myself.

well..maybe there is hope for "real life" meeting someone

I didn't know you lived in Seattle. Howdy neighbor!! Ok so I am actually in Snohomish. I have been married for 20 years and I thought I could change the way my husband dresses and nope all's I've done is waste money on clothes he never wears. He also hates to workout so I have joined a few of those meetup groups for running and hiking. I really hope you meet someone way better than that ahole that's married!! Good luck- LA

    What's everyone eating for thanksgiving?

I've actually decided not to make stuffing this year. The reason being is I make it from scratch and my husband and kids don't like it so that's a lot of work just for me to eat very little. Plus I don't need to eat it for a week straight. I hope my MIL wont' be too disappointed. She is the only one besides me that eats it. I am planning on having turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, and then later pie. I am at goal so I do eat pretty much everything in moderation but it's funny how picky I am now on what I am willing to make or even when I go out to eat and spend money on when I am only going to eat a little bit. Especially if it won't make good left overs. Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!!

    I f*****g love protein shakes!

I don't like most premade Protein shakes but I do love my Shakeology vanilla with a little fruit in it. Now I might have to try a little pumpkin since someone mentioned it. I like the Shakeology because it has so many other nutrients besides just Protein so I feel like I've covered my bases on my first meal of the day. I do still take my recommended Vitamins as well. Long Division-Let's just say I stopped understanding math when the alphabet decided to get involved. 49ers- It just not as fun making fun of them without Harbaugh. Go Hawks NSV-I sold all my XL Seahawks Jerseys and bought new one's in size Small. ~LA

    BMI 31-32

Marcci I lost all of my excess weight in 4 months. And we are pretty close on stats but I'd say give yourself 6 months. That's what my surgeon told me to expect. As far as goal weight it depends when you get there and how much muscle tone you have. My goal was 115 but I am around 119-121 and have decided I need to not lose any more. I wear a 0P and XS Petite so if I lose anymore I am not sure where to shop I wouldn't listen to your co-worker about doing it or not. That's one of the main reasons I didn't tell anyone is I didn't want to hear how I didn't need it. Sure it's not all rainbows and unicorns but I don't regret it at all. Good luck- LA
  16. I got eyelash extensions this week. I absolutely love them.
  17. I just hit my one year anniversary and have been on maintenance for 8 months. I can eat anything and it doesn't bother my sleeve. I don't measure or track my food. Never have during this process. 5/6 small meals a day. While I was losing I ate very little carbs. I still follow the general rule of Protein first and then veg and carbs. Except when I have oatmeal but then I add some unflavored protein to it. When I snack it's usually Skinny Pop. When I go on vacation or have a fun weekend with treats I make sure I am back on track when I return. I stay within a 2 lb range. I also work out every day. I don't drink carbonated drinks or alcohol. coffee with a little creamer, Water, or Powerade zero are what I drink. I was just downgraded from my Gold Status at Starbucks to green because I rarely go anymore. Not a bad thing since it saves me money and calories. I will have some pumpkin pie filling on Thanksgiving. Best of luck- LA

I did the hernia repair and my insurance covered that but did not cover my sleeve. Bummer. Good luck to you

Why do I do this to myself! UGH!

I keep a Protein bar and almonds in my purse at all times in case of emergencies because eating every 3 hours is a lot of work and planning. I think another good option at McD's if your stuck is now that they have Breakfast all day get the egg Mcmuffin and take one of the bread pieces off. Or even the oatmeal wouldn't be bad. This is a never ending journey. We all make mistakes. Now you have lot's of great tips. ~LA
  20. Today marks exactly one year since I started my preop diet and I was reminded of all the wonderful things I've learned from this site so I thought I'd share a few. 1. Never knew about the 3 week stall until I read it on here. 2. salad Bar-Someone else had posted this tip. I now go to the Salad bar at Safeway right down the street from my house and load up the container with all sorts of veggies and do not add any dressing. Then for the week I just use my precut veggies out of my box. I waste so much less and it's super easy. 3.Powercrunch bars...they are my favorite. 4.Genepro unflavored Protein. Love this stuff heard of a new one called Piping rock that I will try when I run out of GENEPRO. 5.If you stall keep measuring as you're probably losing inches 6.Healthy options at fast food places, recipes, snack ideas And now I've ordered a new moisturizer cream. So much wonderful information on here. I am sure there is more that I am forgetting. How about the rest of you what have you found to be the most helpful? ~LA

    Had to share...NSV

Buying clothes is so much fun. One bummer thing is when you buy something you love and then you lose so much more you can't wear it anymore and you want to buy another and they are out. First World Problems. I am now at goal weight so I am now spend a ton buying cute stuff. I bet you can find some cute and great deals during the holidays. Have fun- Lorie

Best Advice I've recieved from this site

Let us know about the vitamin patches. That sounds cool as I hate taking pills. I love the encouragement. I have only told my husband and one friend so for me this is the one place I can come and share my experiences etc. ~LA
  23. Thanks for the tip ordering it today. This gives me a good idea for a new topic. The best advice we've gotten from this site ~LA

    New NSV - Shorts worn

Congrats on the NSV. A good self tanner that I would highly recommend is Jergens Natural Glow. It doesn't make you look orange, doesn't streak, doesn't smell bad. It Also has SPF 20 and is a moisturizer. I have had several skin cancer lessions removed so I have to be careful in the sun and this stuff is perfect. ~LA
  25. This month marks one year surgerversary for me. I hit goal 8 months ago but it's taken me this long to finally take my rings in and get them resized. I also had them redipped so they look brand new. Have a great weekend everyone. Go Hawks- LA
