AJP1243 got a reaction from Djmohr in December Surgery Thread - we rock!
My back is killing me. I had surgery on December 15th. Everytime I drink my stomach hurts for a few seconds. Everytime it does this does not matter what I drink. I wish i could hit fast forward to get past this point. Trying to stay hydrated even with the pain. We will all get through this. Anybody else have a pain in the stomach area when they swallow liquid clear only?

Thank you all. I have started out slow but my energy keeps me only at the gym for about 30-40 mins. I am nervous about the weight machines that my gym has. They are so intimidating. I feel like everyone is staring at the fat girl trying to use the machines. Even though I have lost 45 pounds. It is a mental thing just need to get over it. Hahaha

What is your gym routine looking like. I am 7 weeks out. (SD 12/15) Can someone give me a 45 min gym routine. Example 15 mins exercise bike 10 min rowing machine. Ect. I need like a play by play. I went to the gym today and some lady was lifting very heavy weights and walking with them. I can't do that yet. So any help is much needed. Thanks in advance!

Thank you. I feel like I look like I'm lost when I'm at the gym. Your suggestions seem right up my alley!

I suggest starting aerobics: alternate between treadmill and stationary bike for 10 minutes to start, increasing by 10%/ week. I now do 45 minutes per day.
Next, I alternate on weight machines. I do arms and abs one day; legs and abs the next. I started at the lowest setting for each machine, gradually increasing the weight when it started to feel easy. I do one set of 12 on each machine.
Alternating helps you avoid over training injuries by giving your muscles time to recuperate.
    Have fun!

Although some family said they were seeing a difference at 20- 30 lbs it was about 50 lbs when I looked in the mirror and started to see the difference. Another motivating difference is watching how clothes fit as I move to smaller sizes. At my peak I was wearing 3XL shirts and even they were getting tight, they were big in the shouders but I needed that size to get it around my belly. Now I'm in XL and everything looks so much more proportional.

i had my sleeve a day after you, but you cant take anyone elses weight loss and compare it. my changes have been drastic , i went from 5x shirts and 4x sweatpants to 3x shirts and 2x sweatpants and they are both loose. im taking my first set of post surgery measurements tomorrow, ill let you know the real differences then.

At 30 pounds down, other people started to notice that my face was thinner. I waited until 40 pounds down to do my first closet flush. At 50 pounds down, I finally could see a difference myself, and did a second closet flush. At 66 pounds down, I have gone from 22/24/ or 2X/3X to 14/L. There is a pair of size 12 white skinny jeans in my closet, just waiting on that next jump down.
Hang in there. Even if you will be a slow loser like I am, just stay with your program. At 13 months, I am losing by milligrams instead of pounds, but the scale is going in the right direction.

I needed new pants after losing approximately 30% of my excess weight. I've stuck with the same tops, I'm trying to only buy one or two new clothing items for each size since I'm down another size every other month or so.

When you eat and drink together it can stretch out your pouch. It can also push the food down to fast and cause dumping and also cause the nutrients to go away. These are some not all of the reasons we can't eat and drink at the same time. This may be one of the reasons you are losing slower. May not be but it could be.

I finally got my staples out yesterday the 8th. They were in for 3 and a half weeks. I am sore from them being taken out. I have lost 32 pounds including pre diet. Surgery date 12/15. I gained 3 pounds it was 35 pounds lost but I finally got my Water down so it is water weight added. I have put my scale away and will see it again Feb 8. Everyone seems to be doing great. On our way to greatness.

Good to hear AJP and Benji. I had my surgery on the 15th and the staples came out a week later. I think it must have really hurt to have them in for so long! Ouchy! I am doing well too. Down 29 pounds and have to go back to work on Monday.
Sounds like everyone is on the way!

Yes it was. Normally I would have ordered from the adult menu but since I was at the airport and would be flying then driving for hours taking leftovers wouldn't work. And since we were at the airport this was the best of the food options. However since I travel prepared I pulled out my Blender Bottle and made two Protein Drinks while my companion ate. And as the saying goes, it is not the $2, it is just wrong. Since this restaurant isn't in my area I would never visit again but I wanted them to rethink their policy. Which they did.

All I'm saying if one of yall came at me for asking a simple question on a website that is ment to have questions asked it would be on. There is no dumb question some people really don't know things. Some people's schedule does not permit the making of food prior. Whether it is accidentally over sleeping or what have you. No one is perfect. Before the sleeve or band or bypass if someone told you you shouldn't have eaten out how would you have acted. You didn't get the surgery cause yall were skinny I'm almost 100% sure of that. Alot of people get this high and might princess attitude turning their noses up at things they have done too. Whether it was done before or after surgery. I have noticed this alot on this forum alot of people are starting to snap at others for their questions and if that is the case remove yourself so people can get answers not judgment. We get that from actual people we come across everyday don't need it from people on here. So sorry for ranting but it is on almost every topic I have read. Some rude snippety person judging others.

Woke up feeling great. Thought I would be able to get things done today. By noon I was gripping my tummy and I had only taken a nap. I hate when I get tricked like that. I mean I felt like me. The old me! I have lost 23 pounds in 2 weeks. 9 pounds since surgery. Really happy about this choice even with the pain.
